| My debut EP is out!
I don't know why but I always felt super excited to write here my debut EP finally got out. It's a wild ride, experimental metal + industrial + synth + rap.
It aim to explore themes such as identity, memory, and emotional collapse through four tracks; I draw inspiration from Nine Inch Nails, Clipping, Massive Attack and a lot of weird Metal, so yeah, if rapping in 7/8 over cool cinematic synthesizers and metal choruses is your thing (I won't be surprised if it's not), this experimental EP is for you. :)
It's free on Bandcamp so yeah, do your thing and help it go around! https://oneandnoone.bandcamp.com/

02.06.26 | First track was cool af
Your vocal delivery gave me Dave vibes for some reason
Will check out the whole thing later! | mkmusic1995
02.06.26 | Hell yeah dude, congrats! Will definitely give it a spin! | gabba
02.06.26 | Congrats, sounds very interesting, time to check this! | brickhed
02.06.26 | my friend would know a lot more about this type of stuff but i'm down to try it out. he likes massive attack and loads of trap n shit so i'll probably send this his way. i think the clipping inspiration will get his attention. | DungeonBoy
02.06.26 | this is not for me, but I will say, jammed the first track and it was pretty cool stuff. I think someone into this style would dig it. cheers dude | LunaticSoul
02.06.26 | Hey guys thanks! It's pretty experimental and varied, I'd say there is a poppy-ish vibe with Here Waiting for You, some Metal/Clipping. horror vibes with "All Is Quiet" and "Out of This World", and "Storm" is a bit in between, I love a lot of different stuff so is a bit all over the place, as a first EP should be. . . . . . :D There's no trap though, I'm a drummer so it's full of tribal polyrhythms or Metal drums. I just wanted to mix genres that nobody usually mixes and try something new.
But yeah stoked to see some of this comments, truly humbled. No idea who Dave vibes is but will check. | brickhed
02.06.26 | ended up not being for me, soaring chorus are a bit of a pet peeve of mine. i'll double it and pass it on to my friend, he might appreciate it more. | TheArtofTheGanja
02.07.26 | liking this kind of stuff I will try it out and let you know my thoughts soon, here's my album, it's synth heavy electronic hip hop/trap stuff https://realdangerousjb.bandcamp.com/album/my-american-dream-is-dead | LunaticSoul
02.07.26 | Happy release day to you as well! We're a bit on two opposite spectrums of rap ;), but enjoyed some of the bits. I really liked the vibes of Say No More, and the closer, the cleaner rappier bits were actually pretty cool. I think production wise you went a bit overboard with the reverb ahah but all cool | Bloma
02.07.26 | This is pretty damn cool. Some nice aggressive grooves. I also agree the reverb is a bit much, especially on the bassy elements. I can actually imagine processing the vocals a bit more timing wise, getting the timing absolutely perfect, I think it would suit the style of music. | LunaticSoul
02.08.26 | Oh Bloma, if you'd seen what I recorded it with :D... And also editing technique, was my first time editing rap vocals and I think the first two tracks I did it completely wrong, "All Is Quiet" has much more tight rapping due to improving how to juxtapose vocals etc. - I now changed mic and went Shure, but have recorded only a clean feat with another producer, called "Amniotic Memories".
It's only up on Spotify and we had a bit of a problem marketing it, he does some old school vibe, Italo-disco trancey sad electronics that's really tough to find its genre but we really loved how it came.

02.08.26 | Really interesting this mate, nice job | Beardog
02.08.26 | Sounds really interesting musically. Production is a bit too muddy and chaotic for my liking, would love for the instruments to all be a bit clearer and have a more defined spot in the mix. But since that is my main nitpick, you know you did a great job. This isn't even my genre but it's for sure cool man! | Beardog
02.08.26 | OK especially that metal production really needs some work... Musically I think it can be cool but now it stands out quite negatively while with different production it could really benefit All Is Quiet | LunaticSoul
02.09.26 | I'm not a guitarist, nor a bass player, and that really hurts when doing metal productions - we did some quick records in studio for the guitars in All is Quiet to make it a bit more beefy, but let's say you can hear it's not Gutrie Govan playing... The original production I did had way more synths (which in the end mix are kind of just sitting in the background) and less guitar, and more of a black metal lofi tremolo going on in the end;
When mixing it in studio, the mixing engineer suggested another idea, they really played a lot with it and in the end went that way - mixing wise, wish we kept a bit of space to make the end sound even heavier, and if I could I would re-record the choruses in general to be more gritty/abrasive, but I unlocked that sound in my voice a bit later than when I recorded it (2023)!
Usually if the nitpick is mixing choices I'm happy, mixing also just gets better with more budget, which I didn't really have ahah.
onto the next and thanks for listening/feedback beardog | Beardog
02.09.26 | Excited for what you do next. But that metal sound will not cost money to solve, just some basic EQ/compression etc. will get you a long way. | brickhed
02.09.26 | hey I play metal bass pretty good, I would be willing to send some basslines your way. I got a few distortion pedals, but clean is cool too if you want that direction. | Beardog
02.09.26 | I have a plug-in to just make guitar noises with keyboard and it works really well for metal. Can also help out if you want. | Christbait
02.09.26 | Look forward to listening to it. If I can ask (and you can refuse to answer!), but how much would you estimate the album cost you to make? I assume mainly the cost for the mixing engineer and such? Everything I've made has been home produced and my editing abilities are terrible. It was always the worst part of creating music, especially when I was using very outdated tech to try to record. I'd be very interested in knowing what your set-up was, what you got a lot of good sound out of, etc. Hell, do an AMA thread and I'd definitely participate. | LunaticSoul
02.12.26 | To both Bs: hey guys thanks! I got to know some local people now that would also be keen to coop, but will keep in mind. I also upgraded my plugins in general with the Solemn Tones set and Guitar rig to have more realistic sounds.
For Christbait: well it depends on your skill set, I honest to god needed an extra pair of hand for mixing and mastering. I have a friend who does it all himself so the cost is 0, aside from plug in costs. I have used roughly 500 EUR worth of plugins or software, the mixing+mastering price in my region are from 200 EUR low end per track to, well, the sky is the limit if you want to spend too much lol. I have an electronic drumset I use to record, so production wise, cost from the aforementioned software and plugins, and cost from a microphone, a keyboard and a drumset.
I use Ableton, then I primarily use a set of trusted plug in makers, the synths I created all from scratch with sampling techniques and mostly stock Ableton plugins. So nothing particular set up wise. My mixing studio had way more gear, including a mixing station and good mixing speakers. No chance I could mix well from my studio, so I don't even bother! | Beardog
02.12.26 | Nice man, I like the sound design on the synths so good job there! |
