11.24.25 | Hmmm
I don't know much about electronic music, but:
A. The electronic releases I know:
CxTBxTCH - demo ep or something idk - glitch demo by one of us sputters, short and sweet.
Knights - Dark Matter - band also known as Infugue, classical-influenced and very electronic-driven space rock. Check Doomsday for reference.
Kombi - Nowy Rozdział - 80's electronic/synthpop, a Polish classic.
Savage (ITA) - Tonight - 80's italo disco, Only You and Don't Cry Tonight are still in frequent rotation on Polish radio stations.
The Birthday Massacre - Violet - electronic meets synthpop meets industrial, with traces of rock. Oscillates between upbeat poppy stuff and dark gothy stuff.
B. Two ambient releases I've listened to are Black Goat of the Woods by Black Mountain Transmitter and Scars of the Shattered Sky by Agalloch. Also, Themata by Karnivool has a lot of ambient undertones and I think the closer qualifies as a full blown ambient track.
C. I only know select songs by them, but:
- Vangelis was a renowned Greek electronic musician and composer, he authored the scores to Chariots of Fire and Blade Runner among others.
- Captain (Markus Kaarlonen) is a well known creator in the Amiga mod community, some of his synth works are Space Debris and Beyond Music. Currently he's the keyboardist in Poets Of The Fall, they're an alt rock band but have two predominantly electronic songs: Choice Millionaire (disco/techno) and Angel (synthpop).
- Daft Punk are an electronic staple but I can't name any song besides Instant Crush (which I recommend) even though I've probably heard them countless times on the radio.
Hope this helps. |
Christbait
11.24.25 | Zanias - Unearthed
Zanias - Chrysalis
Justice - Cross
Carpenter Brut - Trilogy
Lagrange Point (not really an established "band") has some fun synth covers of a few TOOL (Stinkfist, Pneuma, Weak and Powerless) and Meshuggah songs (Bleed, Rational Gaze) that I always enjoy coming back to.

fwiw I have listened to Carpenter Brut (Trilogy might be the best synthwave album out there?), Massive Attack (I hadn't really considered it electro, but I suppose it fits the bill!) and Kraftwerk. Lots of names I've never even heard of before tho, so I'm excited!!!
I'll report back soon! |

11.28.25 | If you dug the Tim Reaper record I suggest going down a rabbit hole of his EPs next. Legit tons of material to dig through I've barely scratched the surface myself. I think he's doing a great job keeping underground and old school jungle/D&B sounds alive. He also does his NTS residency once a month which is also loaded with tons of great music |
RunOfTheMill
12.02.25 | I definitely will do that jr. Sorry to say that I didn't like the Drexciya record anywhere near as much. Unfortunately found it rather annoying, maybe I wasn't in the right headspace for it at the time, idk |
Hyperion1001
12.02.25 | Drexciya is the best band of all time so definitely try again. |

12.05.25 | Folks I'm sorry to say Autechre is maybe not my thing. Does he have more accessible stuff? I have to give Chiastic Slide another go, but I went through all of Quaristice and it was laborious. A lot of the tracks feel like ideas or concepts and don't go much of anywhere. A collection of beep boops that worm around my brain like a dental drill. I need something to anchor myself onto, a steady beat or groove...
I really enjoyed Oneohtrix Point Never and The Orb tho, will check out more by them |
jrlikestodance
12.05.25 | Autechre, especially their later stuff is very experimental and definitely an acquired taste. I love almost all their work that I've heard, but albums like Amber and Tri Repetae are definitely more accessible. Maybe try those |

12.07.25 | Autechre are far more experimental than anything on this list. If OP actually wants to hear something at least vaguely resembling Prodigy he should try Skinny Puppy's Bites and VIVIsectVI records, as well as Spor's Anachronic mix for good Drum N' Bass. This track from one of their collaborators is also pretty cool:
