08.22.19 | @garas Right on man, I just absolutely love the mixing on it and use of samples to make it so immersive. He did the same thing on Winterstead for sure, but Storm Haven is a step up IMO. Take a track like the Typsy Waltz Inn. It starts with this jangle melody and rain, giving the listener the feeling of waiting outside of the inn but hearing what's going on inside, and as you knock on the door and enter the inn the soundscape fills out so you feel like you're inside and you hear the echoes of coin and mug splashed across the wooden tables. Mind Blown:

08.22.19 | Sure, that track was probably the best on the whole album! But I wasn't impressed that much. Again, for me Storm Haven was just "Winterstead 2.0". Personally I prefer Leaving Winterstead over both, because of the more experimental approach + the more droney parts. |
