Veldin 06.22.24	I’ve put in 6 hours, haven’t found the Lion or Rellana yet. The verticality of this realm is insane. I’ve found 15 sites of grace and I have +3 in both new Shadow Realm Blessings. I’ve beat every mini boss I’ve faced so far except for the giant fire dudes. Those things kick my ass lol

Gyromania 06.22.24	I only have 2 out of 11 Rembrances so far lol. 24 hours in. This is the best dlc they’ve ever made. Both the Lion and Rellana are 10/10 bosses. The Golden H at Shadow Keep was also a rly fun surprise. Veldin: first try? Fkn how lmao. And yeah the verticality is very impressive in this region

Veldin 06.22.24	I used my +10 mimic tear so that obviously helped lol But otherwise I’m a STR build, lvl 168 and I use a heavy jump attack along with my jump talisman and stun/break lock everything. Was using Grafted Greatsword +10, but now I’m using the Greatsword of Solitude I got in dlc and bumped it to +10. Scheumke 06.22.24	Im just trying out all the new stuff. In the DLC with my lvl 260 something NG+1 but with no stat above 50 so I can try everything that peeks my interest but I don't deal ludicrous amounts of dmg. Seems to really pay of so far.

Gyromania 06.22.24	Nice I was probably sitting at around the same when I started Ensis (fucking awesome castle btw, feels much like like a Castle Morne in terms of original level design - that’s one thing I hated about Redmane Castle and Castle Sol). I play these games at a very slow pace compared to others. I like to read item descriptions, explore as much as I possibly can, take in some sights, experiment with new weapons and items etc. the base game took me around 180 hours to finish, and going at the rate I am rn, I’ll probably finish this close to the 100 hour mark. I uncovered two more map fragments but there is a staggering amount of places to go. Even in the first area, I went back but went underground. Like, the topography of the region renders the map kind of useless at times lol. Btw idk if this is a spoiler, I mean I don’t rly think it is, but there are 11 total Remembrance boss fights in this his dlc, which I think is close to the number of the base game. So far I only have 2 of them, so there are a lot of big fights yet to come for me.
Scheumke 06.22.24	Got Rellana but holy crap this was a hard cookie. I went very well the first few tries but then just got stuck. Its a quick fight though so I managed to get it in like a good hour or so, but that still must've been 30/40 tries

LotionLord 06.23.24	I'm at Messmer right now. I have phase 1 down to a science but I die within 10 seconds of phase 2. Still pretty fun once you get the hang of it.
Gyromania 06.23.24	Phase one is fun once you get the hang of it but his mixups still fuck me up, and taking any damage at all can be hard to recover from. How many deaths before you nailed phase 1?
LotionLord 06.23.24	I can't give an exact number but it didn't take too long, not as long as Rellana at least. But yeah it's kinda bs how his combos are so fast that if you get clipped, you just get stunlocked and die. Most of my attempts that got to phase 2 were hitless up until that point.

I've accidentally got to the last boss and tried it a few times... I'm pretty sure it's harder than Malenia

I’m at multiple other points too, I just haven’t done the content there yet, like the ruins, going after Bayle, this massive crystal cave thing all the way south, and the church at shadow keep. And yeah I’ve heard the final boss is absurdly hard. After how hard I struggled with Messmer, I can’t imagine something harder. I already struggled more with him than I did Malenia

JohnnyoftheWell 06.24.24	"I've gotten a major spoiler about the last boss and it pisses me off to no end" yes lol same although it came from an even dumber context than a yt thumbnail. lore-wise it seemed so implausible that i'm now more curious than ever though this was absolutely brutal at first, but I explored p well and have been cruising on. got the Lion Dancer down on my second attempt and just about managed to nail Rellana without resorting to summons. parked outside the black keep atm, which ig means Messmer tonight not scrolling up this thread beyond the last two comments (sorry i'm gonna be that precious about spoilers and this comment will be obnoxiously long to facilitate that lol), but any reports on gear so far? from the perspective of an ARC 70 / DEX 40 built, i've been l o v i n g Milady. threw that on a bleed affinity with the Wing Stance ash of war (favourite new item from the whole DLC so far) and it's basically replaced my Eleonora's Poleblade build with greater utility. strong weapon art attacks are busted aerial divers, weaker attacks are 3x slashes that can be chained like Double Slash, insane bleed buildup and stance damage (and hits even harder if i switch to occult for enemies that don't bleed). with both Rellana's Cameo and LoB's Exultation it's absolutely ruthless against slower enemies. Poleblade still wins for sheer offensive overkill, but has lower survival odds and overall utility bit disappointed in the Great Katana (feels like it should be a busted stance-breaker, but i'm not getting as much as i'd like out of the ichimonji-style weapon art). need to test out the paired meteoric greatswords you get from whichever forge, but my strength ain't high enough atm. Dryleaf Arts and Backhand Blade also high on the test list love how many of these weapons come with their 'unique' skill attached as an AoW. very generous scenes also love how foreboding some of these areas are jfc. Belurat and the undersea Fissure are telegraphing those sinister vibes like nothing in the base game - darker, no-bullshit tone of the DLC is v much landing for me

Scheumke 06.24.24	Lol Johnny I'm using the exact same, Milady with the Wing Stance and bleed affinity. I have 111 bleed buildup lol, its so strong and versatile I'm absolutely in love with it. Tried the Rellana dual weapons which are fine but I'm not quite sold on them yet. Do love the light greatsword weapon type though. It's kinda hard to give vague tips about the wicker men because there's a quite simpel trick to it. Only done the first one though so might be different on the others. The vaguest tips I can give you is: Use Torrent, and the hp bar is not as big as you think it is.

Rellana swords look like they might be nuts if you build specifically for them, but i'm not respeccing until i absolutely can't avoid it. v curious to pick up the Star-Lined Sword on my mage build though, the item description basically bills it as an even more cracked-out Moonlight katana but i'm guessing there are a few nuances in utility

SpiritCrusher2 06.24.24	I'm not really sold on any new weapon yet, kinda hard to replace my Bloodhound Fang, I just love its weapon skill too much. Milady and Messmer's spear are definitely cool af. the fact you can throw the spear with R2 without wasting FP or stamina is ridiculous

It's all super technical documentation shit I need to read. I did get in a few hours on Saturday night and got pummeled by the Blackgaol Knight about 30 times before I beat him. I've been sucking ass since it's been so long since my Elden Ring playthrough in 2022.
JohnnyoftheWell 06.24.24	lol finally got the wicker guys down - they are easy and I feel like an idiot! thanks gang Blackgaol Knight seems specifically engineered to shatter player confidence in whatever their base game build is, probably died to him more than Rellana. Golden Hippo is my least fav boss by far so far, awful fight imo

Scheumke 06.25.24	Agreed on golden hippo. Minor build spoiler, but I've had an impossible time with my Milady build. I Felt super sluggish and could hardly get a hit in. I switch to my double greatstar jump build and knock him down while taking one hit. Very unbalanced boss and your experiences will greatly change depending on your build.

SpiritCrusher2 06.26.24	finished the DLC last night. the last boss is kinda ridiculous, but it actually didn't take me that long when I started using mimic tear. I used my old reliable bloodhound fang and just made sure to be as tanky as possible (okay that's not completely true as I was on 15 scuda blessing), flask of physick with damage reduction tears, golden vow and 3/4 defensive talismans
Anthracks 06.26.24	I beat the DLC today (NG+ / No Summons / All Bosses). It was certainly overall the most challenging thing FromSoftware have created as it is touted to be. I'd give it a 95/100 though, because some of the difficulty is artificial and some areas are way too barren and felt incomplete (barely a critique though because 50 hours of content in a DLC is insane). Out of the 14 FS bosses that have killed me 10 or more times, 9 of them are now from Elden Ring thanks to this DLC.

Anthracks 06.26.24	I have no concept of that because I just picked up from my NG+ file and got to the DLC as quickly as possible. From speaking with friends, it's significantly easier before going to NG+ and I was level ~180 when I started the DLC I think. It doesn't matter much because the difficulty scaling is unique to the DLC. It's more important what gear you have.
Scheumke 06.29.24	Slowly grinding my way through Mesmer. Goddamn this a well designed fight but tough as nails. It's constanly giving me the feeling that I'm almost at the point of cracking it, keeping me motivated, but I'm what, 60/70 tries in. Btw, Shadow Tower for my favorite legacy dungeon so far. The atmosphere is incredible. I love how these dungeons in the dlc feel a lot shorter than in the base game but still have plenty to explore.
Gyromania 06.29.24	Messmer is amazing, top 3 prob, with maybe Bayle and Midra being the other huge highlights. So many good boss fights in this dlc tho. Just finished the final boss earlier today and it was a rush
Scheumke 06.29.24	Fuck yeah got Messmer down! 15% hp, no flasks, sweat pouring out of my armpits and screaming at my tv but I did it. Took about 3 hours in total I think, which clocks in at number 4 for me in terms of difficulty, after Orphan of Kos, Ishin the Sword Saint and Gael. Def. up there with the hardest fromsoft bosses, but what a fantastic 10/10 fight goddamn. Edit* number 5 if you count pre-nerf Radahn which took me 4 hours and has since become an absolute cakewalk.

Scheumke 06.30.24	I'm taking it that that's with spirit ashes / help or a ridiculous dmg heavy comp anthracks, because without doing it in 2 tries is ludicrous. He has combos in which a single hit clips 30% of my hp (60 vig) at least and need to be dodged very specifically in order to avoid being hit, like dodge back, dodge back, dodge front or your fucked. Not to mention a oneshot grab, a .1 second healingwindow after most of his attacks and like 8 different combos to learn. Ain't no way you get the hang of that in 1 try, or your like literally a god-tier gamer.
PayneTiger777 06.30.24	Absolutely loved the DLC. I didn’t struggle with it as much as I thought. Messmer was taken out in my second try and the final boss took me 3 tries. Bayle, on the other hand, was around 12. Hardest boss in the game for me. I stuck with my strength build and went with the dragon hunters great katana. Awesome weapon. I used my mimic, don’t really care because it’s part of the game. However, I have noticed that the bosses tend to ignore your ashes a lot.
Anthracks 06.30.24	No, as stated before I did NG+ and I never use summons in any FS/Soulslike. He just didn’t pose a threat to me for whatever reason. Even my first attempt I got him to like 85%.

JohnnyoftheWell 06.30.24	going back in with my lvl 70 build who cheesed Mohg with Comet Azur pre-Cerulean Hidden Tear nerf, and finding the world surprisingly manageable so far (not even touching bosses for now). want to stash as many Scadu fragments as possible and see if having an scadu-overlevelled otherwise-underlevelled build can squeeze out a few wins holding 1.7 million runes and refusing to level; got that Twiggy Crystal Tear on lock for now
Gyromania 06.30.24	With a proper build, fully leveled weapon, and high Scadu blessing level, you can manage just fine with a lower stat character. You’re gonna notice the deficit most in the final boss

JohnnyoftheWell 06.30.24	Should probably add that part of one-shotting Mohg involved never levelling up vitality. 450hp vs. this DLC has been a fun one - I can two-shot anything up to the divine bird warriors with Carian Grandeur (and took down Morgott before he made it to second phase), but boss strats are gonna have to be tight af once we go there anyone been using the deflection tear btw? apparently those Sekiro mechs are op as hell in ER

protokute 06.30.24	just beat Ralenna, she's hard but manageable. Unfortunately, my Greatsword with Lion Claw build didn't work too well with her, since it is very hard to get the jump attack right because she has a tendency to swirl around me the exact time I tried to do it. After around 20 tries, decided to summon Leda and beat her at 2nd try. So far, I'm loving the vistas, they really nailed their visual style on this DLC, everything is really gorgeous... but it shouldn't tank the performance on my RTX 3060 that much though, considering that despite how beautiful the atmosphere and artstyle here, technically this isn't so much different from a PS4 game.
PayneTiger777 06.30.24	The death bird you find is surprisingly difficult. Was harder for me than most of the main bosses. Also, the secret “finger boss” is probably one of freakiest designs I’ve ever seen. Consort on the third try had me in shock. I beat Malenia on the second try with the same build. Been playing these games since the OG Demon’s Souls.

trilo 07.01.24	finished the dlc yesterday. it is more Elden Ring and that's all one could ask for. ngl tho i hope their next game isn't open world. open world has lost almost all appeal to me even though ER has one of the best implementations of it. i just can't be fucked traversing for all the tiny nooks and crannies anymore. once you're looking for the last bits of stuff it becomes a chore and i'd rather get on to The Game (i.e. combat) again. the legacy dungeons are the best part of the game and i'd rather they just go back to doing that. bosses were pretty good but a big fuck you to phase 2 of the final boss. total dumpster fire of visual design. like being permanently flashbanged. the trend of making bosses more and more like anime villains is obnoxious. not every boss needs to go sicko mode and shit waves of particle fx on the screen. would love to see what's happening on my screen!!! also fuck Gaius too. the rest tho range from ok to great. Midra in particular was a highlight. his move set felt very classic Souls with great spectacle. also dope cinematic. really the whole build up to him was sick. def the best part of the dlc to me.
