It Came From The Bowels of Bandcamp…
Just a quick little highlight of some albums/EP’s I found interesting enough in my Bandcamp backlog that I think deserves some more attention. Some may have been noticed by a fair amount of peeps here, and some I know nobody’s checked because I added them to the site lol. I guess you could say this list has been my recent digs, and you should check these. List is in no order of rank whatsoever. |
1 | | Sungazer Perihelion
Instrumental rock with touches of electronic to spice things up.
https://sungazermusic.bandcamp.com/album/perihelion |
2 | | Closet Witch Chiaroscuro
Screamo/grind blend, prolly would’ve made my year-end list for 2023 if I did one, this was a good find via good ol Zegema Beach Records
https://closetwitch.bandcamp.com/album/chiaroscuro |
3 | | Hippotraktor Meridian
Progressive metal ala heavier Karnivool and maybe TesseracT
https://hippotraktor.bandcamp.com/album/meridian |
4 | | Allegra Krieger I Keep My Feet On The Fragile Plane
I swear I listened to this, I listened to most of her discography in one beautiful day. Achingly gorgeous indie folk here.

5 | | H.C. McEntire Every Acre
More indie folk, but this leans a little more to the country side of the spectrum. Still beautiful.
https://hcmcentire.bandcamp.com/album/every-acre |
6 | | Helena Deland Goodnight Summerland
Even more indie folk, but this time with touches of dream pop and shoegaze thrown into the mix.
https://helenadeland.bandcamp.com/album/goodnight-summerland |
7 | | Coeur de Pirate Impossible à aimer
Who knew indie pop completely sung in French could be this good? Thanks, Canada
https://musique.coeurdepirate.com/album/impossible-aimer |
8 | | Rothadas Kopár Hant... Az Alvilág Felé
Incredible death/doom hybrid monstrosity from Hungary. Massively slept on album, if you ask me.
https://mesacounojo.bandcamp.com/album/kop-r-hant-az-alvil-g-fel |
9 | | VIBORA ZALDI BELTZA
More emo/screamo, this time from Spain. Another entry that would’ve prolly made my list.
https://viborahc.bandcamp.com/album/zaldi-beltza |
10 | | Guilt Trip (UK) Rain City
British hardcore that hits like a Mack truck at times. Hardcore as a whole seems to be on this underground tear of solid releases the past several years, and I’m happy I’m here for it.
https://guilttripmhc.bandcamp.com/album/rain-city |
11 | | Mol Diorama
Really solid blackgaze band from Denmark thats hasn’t released a stinker yet. Can’t wait for new material from them.
https://moeldk.bandcamp.com/album/diorama |
12 | | Rejoice (USA-OH) All Of Heaven's Luck
If you ever needed a band to scratch that Black Breath itch, this is it… first solid release I heard for 2024.
https://delayedgratificationrecords.bandcamp.com/album/all-of-heavens-luck |
13 | | Spectres (CAN) Hindsight
Really solid post-punk for all you Cure fans out there. God bless Papa Uni.
https://spectresvancouver.bandcamp.com/album/hindsight |
14 | | Rongeur Glacier Tongue
Post metal with elements of noise rock and hardcore, this was incredible from top to bottom. Undiscovered gem from Norway.
https://rongeur.bandcamp.com/album/glacier-tongue |
15 | | KRZTA ŻÓŁĆ.NISZCZENIE.ZGLISZCZE
Unpronounceable name. Unpronounceable title. Absolutely spellbinding mix of post metal, noise, sludge and math here, utterly bewitching brew from this Polish band. If anything at all, dig. this.
https://krzta.bandcamp.com/album/niszczenie-zgliszcze |
16 | | Sadness Motionless, Watching You
Dunno what it is, but Sadness brews an intriguing blend of blackgaze and ambient that makes me intrigued whenever I see new stuff by them, and apparently that’s quite often, given the length of their discography. Good stuff to vibe out to, which makes the runtimes for the majority of these tracks forgivable.
https://sadnessmusic.bandcamp.com/album/motionless-watching-you |
17 | | Sadness april sunset
What #16 said, just with more tracks here.
https://sadnessmusic.bandcamp.com/album/april-sunset |
18 | | The Black Veils Carnage
Italian post-punk, very cold and very good
https://theblackveils.bandcamp.com/album/carnage |
19 | | Juggernaut (US-NY) Hollow Black
Got some classic 90’s metallic hardcore sounds going on here, sounding like they’d be right at home in the NY scene. Featuring current and ex-members of Longest War, Herod, Dead To The World, Union, Face The Panic, G.O.A., and Wrong The Oppressor.
https://irishvoodoorecords.bandcamp.com/album/hollow-black |
20 | | Anti Ritual Expel The Leeches
Absolutely furious release here, mixing elements of crust, black and grind into one vitriolic whole. You’d be doing yourself a disservice if you didn’t check this out.
https://indisciplinarian.bandcamp.com/album/expel-the-leeches |
21 | | Wildheart Global Crisis
Australian metalcore/hardcore that pushes all the buttons confidently, even if the end result isn’t spectacular. Nice aside that shows the genre still alive and kicking amidst the dearth of Architects/BMTH knockoffs.
https://wildheart.bandcamp.com/album/global-crisis |
22 | | Bordge Neither The Time Nor The Place
Russian band that adorns a post-hardcore frame with sludge and math influences, making their sonic stew that much more appealing. Don’t sleep on these guys.
https://bordge.bandcamp.com/album/neither-the-time-nor-the-place-2 |
23 | | SCHKAF Часть I
Another Russian band, but this time it’s screamo with some post-metal influences and slight pinches of black and crust. Listing both their EP’s from 2021 in here, may be enough to check the region and see what other gems may be hiding there.
https://schkaf.bandcamp.com/album/i
https://schkaf.bandcamp.com/album/ii |
24 | | Blankenberge Everything
Going 3/3 for Russian bands here, this one mixes shoegaze with dream pop and post-rock elements to gorgeously beautiful effect. That this album only has 36 ratings (including my own) is criminal.
https://blankenberge.bandcamp.com/album/everything |
25 | | Sunset Images Traumatismo Nacional
Drone/noise rock that scratches that itch you may get for primo Boris when you don’t feel like listening to Boris.
https://sunsetimages.bandcamp.com/album/traumatismo-nacional |
26 | | The Temple (NZ) The Temple
No frills, straight-for-the-jugular blackened death metal here, satisfying and succinct.
https://thetemplenz.bandcamp.com/album/the-temple |
27 | | Sbonk Les Portes Factices
Incredible French album here, sounding like a cross between jam band, prog and jazz from the 70’s. Delicious sound and very hard intangibles to nail down just right, but Sbonk do it with aplomb.
