Thanks man. And yeah free death refers to brutal death metal that’s at least partially improvised, stuff like Trichomoniasis, Effluence, Encenathrakh, etc.
You might be interested in the VA comp I Can’t Believe It’s Not Encenathrakh. It’s a bunch of free death bands doing covers of Encenathrakh songs, arguably the first free death band
yeah I would wanger Encenatharkh set the precedent of free death, but Ages Gone were at least the earliest band to coin the term.
