Last year (or technically, super early this year) I made a list of the 50 best albums of the decade so far. Well now, I've expanded it to 100 and have also changed it to include EPs and compilations. The idea of this is to see how decade-best rankings change over time, as I plan to do a version of this list at the end of each year. And for the record, I didn't comb over each and every entry to make sure they're consistent with their placements in year-end lists, this is much more of a vibe ranking than anything else.
Chappell Roan - The Rise and Fall of a Midwestern Princess (2024 Ranking: #37)
Don Broco - Amazing Things (2024 Ranking: #40)
The Dirty Nil - Fuck Art (2024 Ranking: #48)
Uhh I don't know the album names off hand but I've done the 2011 most recently and listened to their 2020 release when it came out. Don't get me wrong, didn't actively dislike either or them or anything, just struggled to love either one.
Understood - maybe I'll give it a shot sometime soon. Think it's safe to say that if that album doesn't click then maybe the band just isn't for me lol
nice effort, props. Is this just a 'checking in' with oneself part way through a decade? - if so, remember to revise this in 2029 (presumably not here!)... never mind just read the bit no-one ever reads. Every year? Certifiably insane platypus
...struggling to see much we align with here but even though I'm not as goo goo for 20 / 16 as some around these parts, they are very good examples of their genres to be fair
