alien in the land of our birth

mr. bungle-esque band. proto-today is the day, except this album doesnt have steve austin on it. they did record a demo with him involved right before they broke up, if you look up "lust for life" on brad elrod's soundcloud you'll find it
2bench
anxious bench

nyc pigfuck-wannabe band during the height of that scene, kind of. they started out as anxious bench in '87 and did this drone-y demo tape which is kind of like a heavier version of the dead c. these guys seem to know more about their instruments then they care to really show. they did some more tapes (which are lost as far as i know) and did two seven-inches on noiseville in the 90s - one thats kind of like them trying to be jesus lizard or unsane or somethin, and another where they basically turned into an anthrax clone. if i ever get a good setup to rip my records ill post it one day. then they broke up, reformed in the 2000s to make a double album, and broke up again after their guitarist died. then they became one with the wind. shame because that 2cd had some really bangin' stuff on it.
3dripping
disintegration of thought patterns

slam shit that sounds like it was recorded under water or something. with random ass rap and techno samples thrown in behind all teh epic pig growlz and br00tal breakdowns. really absurd stuff thats super fun to listen to. you can tell they were on some awesome acid making this. if anyone has their channeling expeditions ep plz send.
4tantrum of the muse
the heart is a two-headed sperm

full-on today is the day/mr. bungle worship with the most amateur mix and production in the whole world. plus it's christian! love the artwork by the way, and its history is hilarious. basically the band got signed to a label and the second they turned this album in they got kicked off. then they got a deal with tooth and nail, only to not follow through with it because they too said "what the fuck is this shit". three times a charm as they finally found one that was cool with putting this album out, only to run into problems with them after completing their follow up album. these guys never could catch a break lol
5terminally your aborted ghost
slowly peeling flesh from inside of a folded hand

what does that name mean? you tell me. i think its like, the ghost of an abortion writing out a letter that ends with "-terminally yours" or something. idk. lots of cool guitar work on this, typical slams and tremz but with neat non-pinched harmonics and twangy sawtooth grin-ish clean tones and sporadic vocals and shit. almost like all of the bands on this list thrown in a blender.

Dark and slow burning hardcore stuff ala-Kiss It Goodbye, their vocalist has a funny voice.
