01.09.15 Top 10 Of 2014!

Top 10 Of 2014!

It's January and the dust has been settled from 2014, here's my personal favorite picks of last year.
10Tiny Moving Parts
Pleasant Living

Surprisingly so much better than their previous album. It's almost unbelievable that this
was released within a year of the last.
9Ben Howard
I Forget Where We Were
8Bobby Barnett
Little Wounds
7Animals As Leaders
The Joy of Motion

Listened the heck out of this album while studying last semester. Its also really good,
technical, and catchy.
6Kayo Dot
Coffins on IO

Very atmospheric, I believe Toby and Co. really hit their concept on the head. Everytime
I listen to it I feel transported to a foreign and exotic cyber future.
5Piana
Muse

Incredibly good release from Japan that has seemingly Western influences. Also different
from her previous releases in a good way since its much more organic in sound.
4Trophy Scars
Holy Vacants
3The Hotelier
Home, Like Noplace Is There
2 Damien Rice
My Favorite Faded Fantasy

I'll be honest, I only heard of Damien Rice early last year. But, his recent offering is
leaps and bounds over other artists within the genre. Rice uses incredibly dynamics and
theatrics to make his music larger than life. Also, the amount of raw emotion in his
music is nearly unmatched.
1Aaron West and The Roaring Twenties
We Don't Have Each Other

Simply because it is the most relatable album of last year. It also happens to be
incredibly melodic and memorable. This was my most listened to album last year.
