Recent Jams
This is what I've been jamming a lot recently. Some of it I've had
forever, others are new. The descriptions are additional notes and
favourite songs. No particular order. Recs are welcome :3 |
1 | | Agalloch The Mantle
Favourite track: The Hawthorn Passage |
2 | | Atoma Skylight
I listen to this while doing other things, good atmosphere, but there's not
much that distinguishes the tracks, so I don't have a particular fav. |
3 | | Bang Bang
Favourite track: Our Home
Someone recked this to me in my last list. Great early 70s hard rock. |
4 | | Captain Beyond Captain Beyond
Favourite track: Dancing Madly Backwards / Armworth / Myopic Void
tarkus is a cool dude, and this is a cool album. Amazing riffs, wonderful
vocal melodies and perfect rhythm. |
5 | | Emperor In the Nightside Eclipse
Favourite tracks: I Am the Black Wizards, The Burning Shadows of Silence
I've only recently got into black metal, and this album has impressed me a
lot because of its sheer brutality and loudness, and those synths add so
much to the sound. I also have Anthems..., which I'll listen to pretty soon. |
6 | | Helloween Walls of Jericho
Favourite tracks: Ride the Sky, Phantoms of Death, How Many Tears
I've had this one for a long time, but hadn't listened to it in forever.
Awesome speed metal. |
7 | | Iron Maiden En Vivo
Favourite tracks: Dance of Death, When the Wild Wind Blows
Nothing special, but amazing sound quality and the great performance
anyone should expect from Maiden. |
8 | | Jefferson Airplane Surrealistic Pillow
Favourite tracks: She Has Funny Cars, 3/5 of a Mile in 10 Seconds
I made a few short comments on the album and why I gave it a 4, and
some guy told me to fuck off. He was kinda right, because it's a fucking
masterpiece and I can't stop listening to it, EXCEPT for Comin' Back to Me's
placing, which ruins any reasonance that track had. Also reminded me of
Battlefield Vietnam. |
9 | | Mayhem De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas
Favourite tracks: Pagan Fears, title track
I've had this for a while. Absolutely love the musicianship off this record,
good stuff to headbang to. |
10 | | Mayhem Grand Declaration of War
My friend really like this one, and so he lent it to me. Uhhh yeah wtf is this. |
11 | | Dimmu Borgir Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia
Said above friend also lent me the entirety of Dimmu's discog, save for their
debut. It's not really trve, but I couldn't care less, their pretty m/. More
great music to headbang to. |
12 | | Mercyful Fate Don't Break the Oath
Favourite track: Desecration of Souls
Took me a while to get into it, mostly because King Diamond has a really
weird voice, but once you get over that, the songs are awesome. |
13 | | Opeth Ghost Reveries
Favourite track: The Baying of the Hounds
Holy fucking m/// |
14 | | Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon
Favourite track: The Great Gig in the Sky
Tthanks to Notrap for convincing me to check this out.
Life has been a douche to me lately, so I was really pissed on day. I sat
down on my deck and watched the sunset while listening to this. 43
minutes later I hadn't a care in the world. The effect this album has when I
listen to it is amazing, and just eases the soul. I can't believe I hadn't
listened to this earlier. |
15 | | Scorpions Tokyo Tapes
Favourite track: We'll Burn the Sky
Probably my favourite live album ever. |
16 | | Ulver Bergtatt
Favourite track: Capitel V
I've had this one for a while; majestic, brutal, true. |
17 | | Ulver Nattens Madrigal
Favourite track: Hymn 4: Of Wolf and Man
Made me think of wolfaboos. |
18 | | Diamond Head Lightning to the Nations
Favourite tracks: Sucking My Love, It's Electric, title track
An album I can never get over. Some of the best riffs I've ever heard. |
19 | | Judas Priest Stained Class
Priest is my favourite band, I always listen to them. Great variety of albums,
so there's I'll always look for something different. Stained Class is my
personal fav. |
20 | | Budgie Squawk
Same as Priest, I always listen to these guys. Squawk is my personal fav. |
