Top 20 Dream Theater Songs

My 21 fave Dream Theater songs
1Dream Theater
Octavarium

Needs no justification; dense, immersive, diverse and pretty damn perfect
2Disappear

One of the most underrated songs ever; emotional as music gets and a
masterpiece
3Honor Thy Father

A bulldozer of a song, this is about as aggressive and brutal as DT get
4Stream of Consciousness

A crazy, trippy journey that needs no vocals to excel
5Fatal Tragedy

This song is better than you
6The Ministry of Lost Souls

Despite being 7 minutes too long and having a horrendously unnecessary
breakdown/solo, this is still amazing
7Voices

With a badass riff, a mindblowing solo and a dark vibe, this song screams
"WIN!!"
8The Shattered Fortress

Whilst being made of several old riffs and having one solo too many, this is
still a highlight of DTs discog
9Peruvian Skies

The first half pretty much defines cool and the second half thrashes hard
10The Count of Tuscany

Grandiose and epic, incredible despite the awful lyrics
11Bridges in the Sky

A gem from an unremarkable album, this song is all about scope
12Learning to Live

Proggy as prog gets, great from start to finish
13Pull Me Under

The first DT song I heard continues to totally rock
14The Glass Prison

A 13 min sledgehammer that opened up new doors in the realm of
heaviness for DT
15Endless Sacrifice

A brilliant combo of soft and heavy with an extended solo that actually
works well
16In the Presence of Enemies II

The intro is outstanding and the rest is solid, but it goes on for a little too
long
17Finally Free

Theatrical and diverse; an epic closer to a classic album
18The Root of All Evil

One of their most badass songs, although this is diminished slightly by the
solo
19This Dying Soul

The intro is perfect, but the song gets progressively (lol) worse until the
awful outro solo comes in, great nevertheless
20Erotomania

A wonderful song, laden with melodies, riffs and different vibes
21The Mirror

A wild card, this song is very dark all the way through, but the last 2
minutes are possibly my fave moment out of their whole discog
