02.02.12 | couldnt agree more with the first commenter. the more post-rock bands you listen to, the less special their music becomes. if you listen to too much at once you wont dedicate enough time to any particular album, so you it will never engrave its importance on you. |

02.02.12 | for 6 years, the only post-rock band id heard was eits, with earth is not a cold dead place and all of a sudden... and i thought they were incredible (in fairness, they still are), and really sentimental for me etc etc. since getting loads of other post-rock albums it's all become a bit too... regular? although they're all good (and i could recommend loads), none of them are really that special, even those eits albums that used to be so important to me now just sound like better versions of other albums. |

02.02.12 | as far as post metal goes, you should dig deeper into ISIS if you haven't already. I would also recommend Neurosis. very different sound from anyone else, and they just can't be copied. you might check out Cult of Luna as well. Also, someone mentioned Rosetta above. all of these bands a fantastic post-metal bands, but they do all have vocals.
if you're looking for purely insrumental post-metal, Pelican seems to be the most popular. I haven't really latched on to their sound yet, but they have a dedicated following.
