Pianocore?
I just released my first album of piano work for digital download, and am wondering what people here might think of it (75,000 youtube views sounds cool until you start looking at what kind of garbage reaches a million). It's composed of covers of metal songs with the idea that people who dismiss the originals might actually enjoy and appreciate the songs in a new medium. List is favorite keyboard albums. alexnewton.bandcamp.com |
1 | | Alex Newton Revelation
This one's mine. |
2 | | Deep Purple Fireball
Jon Lord is awe-inspiring. Enough said. |
3 | | Nightwish End of an Era
Tuomas writes the songs AND all the orchestrations? Seriously? Wow. |
4 | | Rainbow Rising
The intro to Tarot Woman sounds terrifically dated but I love it just the same. |
5 | | Septic Flesh The Great Mass
The impeccable symphonic elements on top of terrific songwriting set this rejuvenated band a level above the rest. |
6 | | Opeth Ghost Reveries
Yeah, Blackwater Park was great, but the keyboards on songs like Ghost of Perdition and Harlequin Forest give this album some of the best moments of Opeth's career. |
7 | | The Doors The Doors
The songs are mostly simple, but after hearing an interview with Manzarek about the intricacies of how he composed Light My Fire, I gained a new level of respect for this album. |
8 | | Isis Wavering Radiant
I'm a big fan of the three albums before it, but BC Meyer really stepped it up on Wavering Radiant, and the keyboard parts are some of the most interesting passages of Isis' discography. |
