I'm not trying to be an elitist but really it's common sense to know this and it seem that I'm the only guy in the site that actually knows the genre well enough. like I said earlier if you listen to the beyond and australasia for example and listen to the fire in our throats... there's a pretty much a big difference. yeah there's HINTS of post-metal, but the album is too soft to call it such.
kangaroopoo 09.19.10	Pelican feels mostly post-rock. The absence of Neurosis/Cult of Luna like vocals softens them quite a lot.

Athom 09.19.10	really it could go either way. i just like to think of pelican as a post-metal band before they broke my heart, so it's post metal. both arguments are valid.
Athom 09.19.10	i didnt even look at your list. i'll do that now. what kind of set up do you have for photography. i haven't been as avid as i used to be a couple years ago, but i'm making an effort to get back into it. i'm a canon man. edit. just looked at your list. new about half of the "lesser known bands". you really need to see ocoai live.
Neurisis of Luna 09.19.10	would've been great to see some of those bands live if I had time and money, but I'm happy enough to see Neurosis, Cult of Luna, and Intronaut so many times now that some of the band members recognize me. I've started doing photography about five years ago. I do freelancing now, it's tough though. get paid when I can, travel a lot because I shoot nature mostly. I have many sets but don't really remember the actual gear at the moment. yeah I shoot with canon too, one of my favorites.
Powerban 09.19.10	at least this list isn't quite a standard post-metal list. couple of surprises, whether i agree with them or not. just work through relinquished's massive post-metal list and your life will be better.
