HugCrewLoveRoll
04.17.10 | Jet: 3
Bruce: 3 |
heyadam
04.17.10 | Jet is a good 10x faster than Bruce at his prime, and he can counter way better. Bruce has the power advantage, but Jet has the speed and counter advantage |
Counterfeit
04.17.10 | Nah, Clint Eastwood would come out of nowhere and destroy them both. |
jesusjuice1179
04.17.10 | actually i change my vote to Jackie Chan |

Dryden
04.17.10 | jet would get killed just as bad as this list is |
ninjuice
04.17.10 | Li is faster, so he's more likely to win. I think Chan could take more of a beating than them though. |
heyadam
04.17.10 | yeah, very true. I think speed makes Jet supreme basically. I mean he can counter before you even knew he moved lol. I just want to see a martial arts battle royal:p |
NeutralThunder12
04.17.10 | tough... going with Jet |
Powerban
04.17.10 | chuck norris got beaten by bruce lee
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLO1YIWQuXE
and if you can beat chuck norris, you can beat anyone. so therefore bruce lee would beat jet li
/end of topic |
heyadam
04.17.10 | lol at Chuck Norris. Good enough, but not up to Jet caliber |
Powerban
04.17.10 | look at 41 seconds into that video, bruce lee doesn't even flinch when he gets kicked in the dick. |
heyadam
04.17.10 | Thats pretty impressive, but Jet wouldn't get hit by Bruce in the first place, and if he did, he would be able to lessen the power of the blow and counter very fast |
Powerban
04.17.10 | None of them would be able to be Chuck Liddell though. |
Trifax
04.17.10 | What are you talking about, OP? Bruce Lee would definitly kick Jet's ass. No question about it. I mean, look at the guy! Watch enter the dragon! HORRIBLE movie, but the action is so...soo....NINJAAAA
Bottom line, Bruce Lee is the bomb. End of story. |
heyadam
04.17.10 | ?? Chuck Liddell haha |
Powerban
04.17.10 | I don't see your point in laughing at a MMA champion. |
Powerban
04.17.10 | oh i meant beat* chuck liddell too, sorry i'm drunk |
heyadam
04.17.10 | I'm laughing because you just said that Chuck Liddell would be able to take out Jet Li and Bruce Lee........thats funny to me. Not that hes not good at what he does, but I mean cmon |
Powerban
04.17.10 | but in the end you mean irl, you can't really judge them both on who would win since you can't really tell at all unless you got them to fight |
supertouchox2
04.17.10 | Dolph Lundgren |
Powerban
04.17.10 | nah this guy

04.17.10 | Bruce would use the Five-Point Exploding Heart technique. Flawless Victory. |
March_Of_Sand

BoneNoir
04.17.10 | dude. jason stathem was in "In the name of the King," he's like the brown power ranger, and thusly lame. my vote is on, fan siu wong, he punched a guys eye out of his head, that's not even special effects... that happened. |
heyadam
04.17.10 | haha thats brutal and awesome. Jets just the man though:p |
liledman
04.17.10 | jackie chan really isnt in the same league as jet li or bruce lee.
my vote is with jet li, though it would be close.... and amazingly awesome. |
RiseToRemain
04.17.10 | Anderson Silva would kick both's asses....humiliate them |
qwe3
04.17.10 | dude this is the dumbest thing ever. seriously |
RiseToRemain
04.17.10 | Isnt it obvious that all these lists compating past and present glories always lean to the direction of the present glory just because the average age of sputnik users is 16 years old?...its always the case on this site...examples:
Who is better Metallica or Misery Signals = Misery Signals
Who is a better drummer Neil Peart or Chris Pennie = Chris Pennie
Who is a better frontman Robert Plant or Mat Bellamy = Mat Bellamy
Who would win Jet Li or The Inventor Of Jeet Kun Do & most celebrated martial artist of all times = Jet Li
p.s = Deathlok are shit... |
Zoo
04.17.10 | I can't stand this new uneducated, idiot wave of MMA fans (some of whom made the switch from the ridiculous, meat-headed "sport" of "professional" wrestling when Brock Lesnar jumped on the UFC bandwagon, which was just as much a fad as the move the weight-loss culture made when the Atkins Diet came along) that think because they've been watching UFC, Strike Force, etc for the past two years and perhaps, have been taking a jits or mt class since they last saw their favorite fighter end a fight with a technique from that respective discipline, they think they have an understanding of martial arts.
You can't compare traditional martial artists with mixed martial arts fighters. Yes, while some of them (MMA fighters) do come from a traditional background and could hold their own versus someone trained solely in a traditional art of lesser, or perhaps equal or greater skill, the majority of them would not last very long. Traditional arts like Muay Boran (what Muay Thai was before it was "civilized" into an entertainment form) or any one of the many styles of Northern or Southern Shaolin, Kunlun, Wudang, or Emei Wushu focus on real-world self-defense survival, and even killing techniques in some cases while most mainstream martial arts focus on competition and exhibition.
In addition, because 99% of mixed martial artists receive their striking background from Thai boxing and/or Western boxing, every move they make would be predictable compared to those motions made by someone trained in Wushu, for example, because the art restricts certain movements. In such a case, A Muay Thai boxer vs a Wushu practitioner, the latter would know exactly what the former can and cannot do and take advantage of it. We rarely see the glaring weaknesses of Muay Thai because Muay Thai is the striking art that nearly everyone in MMA trains in. A boxer or Thai boxer can only vary his punches, kicks, knees, and (in very rare cases) elbows so much and that variation doesn't really come from how the techniques are performed but in what order (collectively referred to as "combinations"). Traditional arts allow more natural, fluid movements that, more often than not, would seem unpredictable to most types of "boxers". |
Zoo
04.17.10 | So RiseToRemain, as talented as Anderson Silva is, Jet Li has been studying the arts longer than Silva has been alive and, despite his age, experience and fundamental differences in their respective arts would, in all likelihood, allow Li a relatively easy victory. It's also pretty insulting to say that about someone so essential to martial arts as Bruce Lee. Lee was the main reason martial arts became mainstream in the first place and, in many respects, laid the foundation for a sport like MMA to even be created, let alone become the resounding popular success it is today. He was, arguably, the first person to consider seriously combining Eastern and Western martial arts in the first place and what's more, he accomplished and perfected much of this phenomenal task while paralyzed. Any real fan of martial arts would know this.
Reading all that may leave someone to believe that I have a bias towards, or maybe even practice Chinese arts like Wushu/Kung Fu, Wing Chun, etc because of the comparisons I made. On the contrary, the only martial arts I've trained in are Judo, BJJ, Muay Thai, and Kyokushin. I love my disciplines but I can't allow my passion for them to conceal their weaknesses compared to other arts. These weaknesses, however, can only be exploited depending on the skill of the fighter and, as such, they should not be the only factor in predicting the outcome of a fight. |
RiseToRemain
04.17.10 | Zoo you seriously need to get laid man or make some friends...you spent waaaaaay too much time on things as idiotic as this list...
p.s and you wouldn't convince me even if you wrote a best-seller on the subject cause you re a no-one and your opinion counts less than lesser...
Advise: go out and interact with people...make friends and as impossible as a task it may be for you try and find a girl..or buy a plant...
Anderson Silva > Bruce Lee |
RiseToRemain
04.17.10 | Anderson Silva > Bruce Lee
Lyoto Machida > Bruce Lee
Fedor Emelianenko > Bruce Lee
Van Damme > Bruce Lee |
Zoo
04.17.10 | I see you study Sun Tzu: avoiding a battle you cannot win. Changing the subject to something so immature and predictable as a personal attack will not gain you any credit nor will it take any from me. Try and discredit me in a valid manner and perhaps I'd consider you intelligent enough to debate with. |
RiseToRemain
04.17.10 | ....ermmmm you still sound ridiculously childish and under the influence of some sort of a drug....and you are still unable to make a point or reach a conclusion....the one which i have reached relates to how badly you need to get laid and that I wouldn't dignify your ignorant comments with a debate even if that would save a baby dolphin...keep wanking Johnny Wanker... |
Vehemence
04.17.10 | Bruce Lee could do Push Ups on his Thumbs, he got his black belt in no time and he actually was too fast for the cameras at the time who could capture less frames per second than now. My vote goes for Bruce Li |
Vehemence
04.17.10 | *Bruce Lee |

04.17.10 | lol all that RiseToRemain can say is "Uhh...shuttup man, you must be on drugs" |

04.17.10 | I do Tae Kwon Do and can pretty much vouche for everything Zoo said. Lol @ risetoremain's only come is for zoo to get laid. Thats hilarious. |
heyadam
04.17.10 | RisetoRemain, you really can't say that it is because of present glory that I picked Jet. My legitimate argument is that he is A. Faster and B. can Counter way better. Bruce only has power over him, and Jet can dodge and turn that power towards Bruce |
combustion07
04.18.10 | Ha thread got awesome when Zoo came in and owned everybody. Even though I can't say I know a damn thing about martial arts, I watch MMA sometimes but aside from that I have shit for brains when it comes to that. |
