Happy Birthday To GYRO!

Today is my 20th and I am sitting here on Sputnikmusic... I could think of better things to be doing, but here are some recent diggs!
1Pink Floyd
Animals

This album is fantastic and I'm thinking of 5'ing it sometime soon. Dogs is breathtaking and one of the best songs I've ever heard.
2Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada

For some reason I am having a difficult time getting into their other works, but this is the most consistent outting I have heard so far. Blaise Bailey Finnegan III has some of the best instrumentation in any song I've ever heard
3Converge
Jane Doe

Does anyone not love this?
4Circle Takes the Square
As the Roots Undo

I've loved this forever but have just started listening to it again recently. Kill the Switch is still in my top 10 best songs of all time list, and will likely always remain there. I can't even put this into one specific genre, it seems that complex.
5Kashiwa Daisuke
Program Music I

More people need to hear this, this is near musical perfection. Stella is simply put, one of the greatest songs ever made. The instrumentation is pure bliss, and never before has violin sounded so beautiful, uplifting, dark, and evoked so much emotion. The prodcution is perfect, crisp and clear. Don't let the length of the tracks put you off, you will slip into them as softly and willingly as you do your bed after a hard day's work. Also, I'm pretty sure I put this in another list, but I cannot get enough.
6Sigur Ros
Heima

Tour Iceland with Sigur Ros on a musical adventure. As said before, a 97 minute Sigur Ros music video.
7Mono
Hymn to the Immortal Wind

Likely the best release of 09. Ashes in the Snow and Follow the Map FTW.
8Death Cab For Cutie
Transatlanticism

It's summer time, so needless to say I am playing this like crazy.
9Pink Floyd
The Wall

I actually just listened to this for the first time about a month ago and it was love at first listen. Too many great songs to pick from, but The Trial remains the best.
10Jeff Buckley
Sketches for my Sweetheart the Drunk

The second disc dips considerably, but the first side is a 5/5. Opened Once and Vancouver remain his 2 greatest songs.
