My favorite noise albums of the '20s so far. Harsh noise (dipping into power electronics at times), harsh noise wall, ambient noise wall, noisecore and gorenoise. Also a few EAI-adjacent works that I felt were noisy enough to include. Not ranked except for the top 10. One album and one split/collab allowed per artist. LFGGGGG
harsh noise / power electronics / dark ambient

i blind bought 17 and its in the mail, i'll let you know what i think. got some other releases that i'll get back to you on when i get through them
also do you just find these from hunting on bandcamp? i usually like going on a harsh noise distro and trying to find the newest stuff in their catalog. helps when there's cassette only releases (which is very common for HN).
Sweet. And yeah, Bandcamp mostly. That’s pretty much what I do too. Following labels is the best route I think. And then similar artists, and checking out unfamiliar artists from splits. I follow some other fans too. And then occasional YouTube related-video scrolling
Abhorrent A.D., Helicopter, Breaching Static, Minimal Impact, Phage Tapes, Oxidation, New Forces, BizarreAudioArts, and White Centipede are the main ones
Hello there. Ofc I disagree with the point on where HNW is at, there’s a ton of great HNW on here. But I do agree with the assessment on contemporary yuppie “noise rock”
I mean there’s still good stuff out there for sure but it’s bordering on death metal levels of inundation with mediocre shit… feels like a lot of it has become fixated on the paraphilia pandering bullshit too; miss the days when the Rita made good walls and it wasn’t all just nylon worship dross
just became too easy to build out a wall in audacity/fl studio and create a free Bandcamp for it… as lame as it is in the digital age, I’ve become a bit of analog purist, at least as far as noise goes… Japan and Russia still go strong but the US scene is pretty fucking weak at this point
Ah I see what you’re saying - prob took you too literally before. Yes, I can attest to that by how much I have to sift through to find something that stands out. Agreed the digital age is def not ideal for it, so leaning towards analog makes sense. Good note on Japan and Russia.
