05.29.26 | I'd probably like the Adebisi Shank song more with vocals and less bright production
but not bad, like a 3/5? |
Jmal00
05.29.26 | Wait the heads are the original creators of this song or is this a cover? |
JoyfulPlatypus
05.29.26 | I'm gonna keep it real with you chief - I didn't realize it was a cover to begin with lol but no, Talking Heads aren't the original creators. Looks like credits go to Al Green. |

05.29.26 | Fwiw, I think The Big Roar is a better album Hawks but Wolf's Law is underrated af. |

05.30.26 | This Eaves Wilder song is a banger. Definitely feel like checking their other stuff.
Omega is a good starting point for getting into Hungarian music. Definitely try Gyöngyhajú lány, it's a stone cold classic among European ballads. You might've heard it already if you listen to Scorpions, White Dove is a remake by them. |

06.02.26 | Hmm…it’s tough to really narrow down which song to pick from this band because they change up their style quite a bit from album to album, but I’ll say Life Begins at the Hops from XTC. |

06.03.26 | If you did do a Kayo Dot discog run, don't be prepared for anything cuz one release to the next can be drastically different, to the point of sounding like a different band.
For You: "Visions of a Life" by Wolf Alice - 3/5, not my usual cup of tea but enjoyable. When it started, I was surprised to hear that stlye of music have such a long song, but it didn't feel long while listening. I like when it starts to pick up a few minutes in. |
gabba
06.03.26 | Thanks for the rec Platy, I was not familiar with Trophy Scars, but the song is great so I bookmarked the album. And I see how it fits my DCFC rec with the bluesy atmosphere, only that Archangel is much more emotional, whereas Pissboy is rather deranged southern gothic. Cheers! |

06.04.26 | Platy, thank you for listening (!) and for at least showing interest in checking out the record (which is a short and sweet 30 minutes); Pom Pom Squad, for me, is what I've always wanted from Olivia Rodrigo but very sporadically get: some explosive pop-punk and indie rock
In any case, you rock, Platy
As for *your* recommendation, damn - I've heard Magdalena Bay before (and loved Imaginal Disk) but have yet to listen to those new single releases (so many of them) but what a fool I am; 'Second Sleep' was an absolute delight (rating: 4/5) and an obvious Magdalena Bay track but with also something different in it? I can't quite put my finger on it, but I loved it + I deserve jail time for sleeping on those new releases. Thank you- |
Gfunk839
06.04.26 | Glad you liked Remina, Platypus!! Heike Langhans is becoming my GOAT female vocalist. I'm listening to your rec now...
Platy Rec: Ban all the music by NBT: NBT was known to me for sure, from a FIFA game or something. I kinda wrote them off as a sort of 'The Killers' type band copy. This song was legitimately fire. Sounds like they can stand in for my love of early Royal Blood records. Solid Rec 8D. |

06.05.26 | Remember when I said I'd listen to the newer suggestions today? I actually meant tomorrow (sorry, work was busy). You haven't been forgotten though! |
SAPoodle
06.05.26 | I recommend you Drive Like Jehu - Luau. Had a look through your ratings and it seems like it might be a bit noisier than what you typically listen to, but I saw lots of post-hardcore so hoping you’ll dig it from that perspective |
