Oliver Daldry - After Dark (EP)
Third track, 'Ghost Town' is my fave
Also any album by Skott - all of her albums have a handful of tracks that I absolutely love, but also some skips so idk which one I'd recommend. Some of my favorites are 'Amelia', 'Porcelain', 'Mermaid', 'Hail Mary', and 'Overcome' |

NaturalLaw
05.21.26 | Not sure if you know the band alexisonfire. But the clean vocalist does some folks music under the "City and Colour" |
Hawks

StormChaser

Hawks
05.21.26 | BOOM!!!! LMAO thanks brother! |
EyesWideShut
05.23.26 | Modest's Good News for a more mainstream debut was damn good imo. Still retained some of that unhinged twang that makes em so great |
Hawks
05.23.26 | Agreed brother!! |
NaturalLaw
05.24.26 | oh you might enjoy Midlake. Album 1 is great but different. Album 2 is considered their best. Album 3 is very strong IMO. 4th has a new singer but is very good! newer albums i have to listen to |
Hawks
05.24.26 | I've heard Midlake's second album and really dig it! Will have to jam more. |
FearThyEvil
05.24.26 | The War on Drugs is literally from my city. Only band or artist really besides Joan Jett |
Hawks
05.24.26 | That is SICK!!! |

Hawks

Hawks
05.25.26 | Everyone needs to jam Mississippi John Hurt now!!! |
NaturalLaw
05.25.26 | you might enjoy Irish Singer and songwriter David Gray. He is most well known for his 4th album, White Ladder. His first three albums i only heard once and did not enjoy, BUT i will be revisiting them soon. His albums post-white ladder have been very good in my opinion |
JoyfulPlatypus
05.26.26 | Hawks, you should check out The Big Roar by The Joy Formidable. It's a shoegazy indie rock album, you might like it. I think it slaps. |
CrisStyles
05.26.26 | I'll go based off what I didn't see on this list or in your ratings:
Jackson C. Frank - Jackson C. Frank

NaturalLaw
05.26.26 | Lmao no worries! Thanks for checking it out though |
NaturalLaw
05.26.26 | You may enjoy Ray Lamontagne. Has a great voice. I only know his first 5 albums, album 4 being the first one I heard because of my mom and brother. The first 3 were growers for me |
Hawks
05.26.26 | Will give his stuff a try for sure! |
NaturalLaw
05.26.26 | Because you are a baller. Looking forward to what you think of the other iron and wine material. His ep is along the same vein as the first album. The 2nd and 3rd i see you enjoying too |
Hawks
05.26.26 | Yes bro, definitely excited to dig deeper into his discog. M//// |
NaturalLaw
05.27.26 | i like how you were into The Shin's 3rd album. That was my first exposure to them and my favorite of theirs. You'd possibly enjoy the first two. The 4th album is a nice extension of album 3. I am assuming you know of Broken Bells? it is a colab with the Shin's singer and another gentleman |
Hawks
05.27.26 | I've heard the first two The Shins albums and love them also! |
NaturalLaw
05.28.26 | ooo shit Hawks is a Shinner |
Hawks
05.28.26 | Hell yeah bro. |
NudeTayne
05.28.26 | lately when I see the word "folk" my mind goes instantly to Adrianne Lenker and then to Ray LaMontagne, although the latter would be more folk-rock(?) |
Hawks
05.28.26 | Adrianne Lenker is so damn good. |
NudeTayne
05.28.26 | Fuck yeah she is |
Christbait
05.28.26 | Oh, Hawks, if you liked The Decemberists' stuff, check out Offa Rex's "Queen of Hearts". It's them and Olivia Chaney doing a one-off collab. |
Hawks
05.28.26 | Oh hell yeah, will check bro! |
Deathconscious
05.28.26 | Shakey Graves, Chelsea Wolfe, Joanna Newsom, and Iron & Wine all rule balls. About to bust out my flannel shirt and thick rimmed glasses and latte. |
NudeTayne
05.28.26 | Only proper way to wear a flannel is without a shirt underneath and the sleeves rolled up, bonus points if you combo with a baseball cap |
Futures
05.28.26 | arab strap m/ |

Hawks
05.28.26 | Go ahead buddy! |
arthropod
05.28.26 | Just give me a while to select and compile. I might even make a list out of it.

05.28.26 | Will do Platy! |
arthropod
05.29.26 | From our limited database, you may listen to "Cała jesteś w skowronkach" by Skaldowie. Late 60's folk rock. "Kulig" and "Prześliczna wiolonczelistka" are staple songs in their discography, and "20 minut po północy" even leans towards prog.
I'd also rec their songs "Wszystko mi mówi, że mnie ktoś pokochał" and "Nie domykajmy drzwi" from other albums. These gentlemen produced some undeniable cult classics. |
arthropod
05.29.26 | And some Enej for the good measure:

PanosChris
05.29.26 | Would love to take up a few seconds and rec the new Angelo De Augustine album ('Angel In Plainclothes')—if you guys are fans of Sufjan Stevens, this will stratch a similar itch; an absolutely dreamy indie folk record |
Hawks
05.29.26 | Sounds right up my alley! Will jam hard. |
NaturalLaw
05.29.26 | You may like the band Paper Rival. Have 2 Eps and 1 Lp. Then disappeared. I really love them. Great lyrics IMO

JoyfulPlatypus
05.30.26 | HAHAHAHA
Wanted to know how long it would take for you to realize.
Also, glad you dug Wolf's Law. Not their most consistent work but has some great highlights. |
Hawks

NudeTayne
05.31.26 | Ray LaMontagne is some ridiculously great slow dancing music with that certain someone, have fun kids ;) |
Hawks
05.31.26 | M/////EN |
NaturalLaw
05.31.26 | Depeche Mode is VERY consistent. granted. i have heard their whole discography a few times over the past 13 years so I have a deeper knowledge than just a quick run-through of their material. Even the first album is very good, which most people find to be very weak. |
NaturalLaw
05.31.26 | do you know the band Rishloo??
https://www.sputnikmusic.com/bands/Rishloo/6909/ |
Hawks
05.31.26 | Will have to jam them soon! |
NaturalLaw
06.01.26 | first album by Rishloo SCREAMS Tool. still a great album with great lyrics. Album 2 is the beginning of something truly their own. |
Hawks
06.01.26 | Damn, I hate Tool lol. |
NaturalLaw
06.01.26 | give the first album a try. on first listen i laughed at how similar they sounded. Not in a derivative way, not copying melodies, just sound. Second album starts off STRONG and his voice is incredible IMO |

Paper Rival
Thieves EP
Do not listen to the thieves version of Alabama first |
NudeTayne
06.01.26 | The Act of Estimating As Worthless has a song called "Black Fly" that is pretty much the best folk song I've ever heard outside of Damien Rice that's worth checking out imo |
Deathconscious
06.02.26 | I've listened to the self titled EP and their full length countless times, I didn't know Thieves existed. It'll be interesting to hear a different version of Alabama.
PR's version of Pacing the Cage is a lot better I think. Alabama's great, but I think A Fox in the Garden is my favorite track off that EP. All these years later I'm still hoping PR will reform lol, or at least that Jake will continue recording music in some new project. |
NaturalLaw
06.02.26 | Fox In the Garden is extremely good too. Alabama just has that palpable atmosphere that is unlike anything I have ever heard |
Deathconscious
06.02.26 | Wow, Thieves is quite a lot different from what they put out later. I guess a post hardcore influence? I'm not super familiar with that genre, but that's kind of what it feels like to me. I'm digging it so far though. |
NaturalLaw
06.02.26 | Yeah I have only gone through it one time. I had known about it for a decade prior to actually hearing it. Will revisit soon |
