| Albums with a track that was later removed from it
Not including songs just removed from digital releases, but ones even missing from physical releases. Also not including ones that differ because country releases since there's a million and most now exist as bonus tracks anyway. These are songs/versions that are legit harder to find because of the removal. | | 1 | | Brian Eno and David Byrne My Life in the Bush of Ghosts
"Qu'ran"
Contains a sample of Algerian Muslims praying that was warped in the studio by Eno.
Apparently a council of UK Muslims asked Eno and Byrne to take it off the album because it was blasphemous. Best song on the album lol. Was replaced with the shitty "Very Very Hungry." Mixed about it, but it sounds so cool. | | 2 | | Sublime 40 Oz. to Freedom
"Get Out!"
Was removed because Led Zeppelin was mad that it sampled "The Lemon Song" without their permission. Top 5 on the album for sure. This one should absolutely be re-added. | | 3 | | Micachu and the Shapes Jewellery
"Worst Bastard"
Apparently the label didn't like that it was the only "explicit" song on the album. Taken off I guess to avoid a "parental advisory" sticker maybe. Also a good song. Put it back on come on now. | | 4 | | of Montreal Skeletal Lamping
"Wicked Wisdom"
The original version of this song had a lyric that was kinda blackfacey and transphobic, so Kevin re-recorded that lyric. So that song is technically still on Skeletal Lamping, but with a different lyric. Not one of the best songs on there, but I'm actually kinda glad they changed it. | | 5 | | Minutemen Double Nickels on the Dime
"Mr. Robot's Holy Orders" , "Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love", "Dr. Wu" , "Little Man with a Gun in His Hand"
Taken off the CD versions so it could fit on one disc. Which is lame, especially since Mr. Robot rules. | | 6 | | David Bowie Never Let Me Down
"Too Dizzy"
I mean most of this album is terrible, and this is no exception, but like why take it off on all remasters? | |

04.04.26 | Slipknot's self titled had 'purity' removed cause it was based on some sort of urban legend website and the guy who wrote the site sued them, to my knowledge it's reinstated but was missing for most 2000s presses. My brother was an early adopter and when his friends went out and bought it they what the hell'd.
Bodycount copkiller's a famous one, probably because it's removal made it the bands most publicized moment. Lots of 90s examples similar to sublime where clearence issues occured so only first editions had the complete set. Another similar but not quite scenario is regional releases of the 60s, stuff like beatles help/jimi are you experienced/floyd piper are famous examples of different tracklists | JerseyJimmy
04.04.26 | Chiodos took Teeth the Size of Piano Keys off the Grand Coda version of Bone Palace Ballet pretty much just for the lulz.
also re: Purity, it eventually got re-added, but Frail Limb Nursery (the interlude bridging Tattered and Torn into it) never came back after the original release. probably because it uses recordings ripped directly from the site. | cylinder
