mindleviticus 01.26.26	Bedlam in Goliath has some of the best drumming I've ever heard in my life. Haven't really jammed their stuff beyond Octahedron tbh, that's where they lost me. The first 2 albums are amazing though. Frances the Mute being my favorite.

BAT 01.26.26	i will say: amps one of their best but the way the tracklist is sequenced really benefits from like pauses instead of direct front to back, i never had the vinyl but i'd assume the side flips are very intentional lol. but yeee curious to see your reaction but had like the complete polar opposite experience getting into volta as a teenager 20ish years ago lol. first one i'd heard was frances the mute when i was like idk 13-14, friend brought it over and we took like a bottle+ worth of robitussin gel caps+weed to listen to it lol. after that i got the rest of the albums at bestbuy cause you could actually get mars volta/opeth/suicide silence/etc at a bestbuy[since your binging dir, withering thru dom from fye lol]. eeeeeach volta album was something i'd need to spin a few times to get my head around cause there's no clear progression of the bands sound, bedlam is easiely the most metal of their discog tho

mindleviticus 01.26.26	Deloused is imo their easiest/most accessible to get into because it's the most straight up progressive/hardcore hybrid, some of their other stuff takes a few listens to really... get, but idk maybe you'll have a different experience

BAT 01.26.26	the mad lad is actually doing it and yeah like i said amp is an exhausting listen, each track on their own [aside from the final noise collage track on that album, that's probably the outright worst volta track] is top tier volta but going back to back it's a bit much to take in. works better for city driving than highway driving. approach it track by track instead of as an album, i also wish they'd remix it cause the drums are too low in the mix.
