Lol, Johnny, the New Masada recording was the only Zorn I jelled with this year. Yeah, I love finding overlooked or lesser known albums in end of the year lists.

I’m scarily neutral to Nick Cave’s latest, I really want to conjure a strong opinion either way but it just eludes me. It’s almost worse than having overriding negative thoughts tbh. It’s annoying when you love an artist and end up just thinking “yeah it’s alright” I guess
I should probably revisit High on Fire, the opener is well fire 🔥… then I don’t remember much else
Thanks Demon! Veilburner and Ingurgitating Oblivion really took me by surprise by how much I loved them and I could not stop returning to them. Yeah, I’m not the biggest fan of High on Fire or anything, but I genuinely think this is their best album. It sounds incredible and the writing blows me away.
I was sad to see an overall neutral response to Wild God on Sput. Everything just works and sounds so good to me. The lyrics also really resonate with me which certainly helps. It’s my personal favorite since Abbatoir and that’s not to say I didn’t LOVE everything in between.
