11.21.24 | @Drifter: Weirdly enough, it's supposed to be a guy whose face is covered in oil/grease. Someone who is dirty from working in a garage all day. This take relates to the story of Joe's Garage way better than blackface. Support for this is also that his neck isn't painted brown and that his face is more splotchy/caked-on than evenly distributed
THAT BEING SAID: Zappa was not an unaware fool, so I can't help but think that was potentially him pushing the envelope (as he so often does.) He knew it could be interpreted as blackface and probably didn't give a shit |

yeah, defo check both. Ys first makes sense too. Have One On Me is arguably easier to digest tbh, but the rather hefty runtime may be off-putting as in introduction. I discovered that it went down very smoothly post-Ys.

Then I was gonna rep a couple of Miles Davis's works, but it seems they're quadruples in their natural forms
If Shaking counted it would be my #1. So it looks like Have One On Me is the winner almost by default(?) but it is a spectacular and remarkably consistent choice |
