artificialbox 05.11.24	When I got my bottom wisdom teeth out, my dentists drew my blood and spun that shit up with some vitamins to create pre made clots which they stuck in there after the teeth were pulled. Apparently this is not a common practice and I’ve had several other dentists be like “they did what!?!”

Definitely not as great as I remembered it growing up, but still fun nonetheless... also, some sections (especially Gran Pulse) are way harder than I remember. Sabrutin 05.12.24	The extended version of Mingus Ah Um worked for me at first, but then after a while I returned to the original cut lengths because, after digesting the longer album, I realized the shortness made for a much more breezy listen for me. Gotta have both tbh! That, and because there is an MFSL edition on CD that uses the og cuts and sounds absolutely godly sonically (but it's gotten too expensive to get legally unless you worship the album, I'm afraid)

I went to a very quiet birthday party and watched the two new Dr Who episodes in between — I am sold on Gatwa but Davies’ writing this season has me really not too optimistic about my enjoyment of the rest of the season. Oh well. Back to Big Finish for me!
Butkuiss 05.12.24	Also yeah original tracklist for Mingus Ah Um is probably better paced — even if I have a soft spot for the bonus tracks, as the extended edition was my first Mingus. “Turn the fuckin mic up” indeed!
