Deftones Ranked
1Deftones
Saturday Night Wrist

10/10, even Pink Cellphone. Top notch atmosphere.
2Deftones
Koi No Yokan

9 or 10/10 depending on the day. Peak Post-Metal Deftones.
3Deftones
Diamond Eyes

9/10. Perfect album apart from 976 Evil which is subpar compared to the other ballads on the album.
4Deftones
White Pony

9/10. Classic for good reason, but many of the songs on here don't have as strong of replay value as the albums that came after.
5Deftones
Around the Fur

8/10. Excellent songs but lacks the depth that made their following albums endlessly enjoyable.
6Deftones
Deftones

8/10. Rightfully regarded as their most experimental album and for the most part, those experiments pay off. Every track is interesting, though some of Chino's vocal performances are irritating.
7Deftones
Adrenaline

8/10. A strong start, the energetic tracks on here stand toe to toe with anything on Around the Fur, but it is evident Deftones weren't confident in writing slower tracks yet. Carpenter found one of the coolest guitar tones I've ever heard on this LP, one that I wish we got more of.
8Deftones
private music

7/10. While its peaks don't reach pre-Gore heights, it's easily their most consistent album since KNY and the production is excellent. Finally sounds like the band working as a cohesive unit again and Chino is taken off autopilot from Ohms.
9Deftones
Gore

6/10. I hated this on first listen mainly because it's the only Deftones album with truly bad production. Stephen Carpenter's guitar parts on a lot of these songs are lazy, whether he was involved in the writing process or not. It has the same structure of what made Koi No Yokan great, it's just not as developed.
10Deftones
Ohms

5/10. The better production than Gore is appreciated, but the songwriting and performances (barring Abe who has some really nice parts) are severely lacking here. The title track is the only song with a memorable guitar line and Chino sounds genuinely awful on a lot of the songs. The positive moments on the album are just standard Deftones fare and I don't have any desire to revisit them. Urantia, Error, Radiant City, and Ohms are all decent but outside of that it's easily their most by-the-numbers album.
