Prior to this I'd have probably said Disco Elysium is the peak of player freedom and creativity, but this honestly dwarfs that in scope.

I've been letting him feed on me most nights, and I thought the penalty for it would hinder me greatly but so far I've been able to manage through every encounter without much trouble (fuck those teleporting spiders tho lol). I think I'm close to act 2 atm, I've just been trying to do everything I possibly can in act 1 before moving on. How far are you now? Dewi: If you're into these types of games, definitely get it, and if you're not... get it anyway.
zakalwe 09.08.23	I am currently Act III level 11 playing as Gale doing ‘good’ and giving Shadowheart the old once over. As soon as it’s done I’m starting over fresh with a created character and doing things differently. There seems to be a bit of kick back over Acts II and III not being as good as Act 1 but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every moment so far.

Jots 09.08.23	imo yeah a great crpg you can hop in and roll with it, or you can overanalyze and min/max if you choose to as well. this game is def accessible but can also be obsessive if you want it to be
Gyromania 09.08.23	I feel like a lot of people who just rush through the game will prob have that opinion of Act III, and I say that because i'm noticing a lot of sidequesting in Act I leads to npcs saying something along the lines of: "Maybe we'll see each other in Baldur's Gate". So I'm assuming a lot of these earlier interactions have longterm payoffs, which I think is rly cool if true. I've heard people diss act II because it looks bleak and apparently is linear (although I've seen many other people say this is bs). Can't comment on either of them rly atm, but Act I is a masterpiece. Also yeah I want to start a new character too. I was actually thinking of doing one alongside my main profile, I know a lot of players are doing this, but that seems kind of exhausting to me lol. For my first run I went with a wizard wood elf and spec'd into necromancy
zakalwe 09.08.23	Act II is bleak and definitely more linear than Act 1 but you can make game changing decisions and there are some quality boss fights. I enjoyed it. The re-encounters in Act III do seem a bit thrown together, one in particular which genuinely is disappointing and they are certainly rushed but it’s the grander scheme of things that make the game so enjoyable. I’ve been playing computer games since 1984 and BG3 as a character led fantasy epic is the best thing I’ve ever played.
