onionbubs 07.13.23	i am a pretty big fan of both: poison the well - without you and one other i am nothing r.e.m. - blue (their last album was pretty weak for them but this song is pretty emblematic of what their values and intent were as a band and is as perfectly fitting a song to close their specific discog as it gets) poison the well are about as dead as thursday in the sense that they are both back and doing reunion shows lol but i think the chances of new music for both are about the same (if not more in thursdays favor)

JohnnyoftheWell 07.14.23	always saw Cheek. as a sizeable cop-out; sample would have been cool in almost any other concept but scans as an unnecessary crutch as an end of career statement (esp considering how well the rest of the record speaks for itself). one proper full-band coda at the end of the track would have been enough to see it off, but alas Dream Brother also sketchy considering that it's a one-alb discog and that Forget Her actually works better as a closer (love it as a track though)

Someone needs to look up what the word means lol" Okay, ummmm... here goes (Google - Oxford Languages): "Iconic: adjective 1. relating to or of the nature of an icon; regarded as a representative symbol or as worthy of veneration." So, from that, in this context I'm taking this to mean: A worthy end to an album, that not only closes the session but also acts as a final statement as a band, encompassing all that made them great and worthy of the adulation to begin with. All good as far as I see.
