I feel that while I haven't been any less active lately, I haven't really been using it the same way as usual.
This month has been a bit of a timeout from writing - the last time I wrote so little was this time last year, when I was in hospital and/or doing fun things like being about to go to hospital and recovering the majority of my body fat and muscle

...cramming for year-ends do be hit or miss. LOVE finding gems towards the end of the year; last year's cram was FULL of them!!, but this time around hasn't been nearly as satisfying so far.
There are exceptions (such as this album, which I love with all my heart), but my recents folder isn't in the most exciting shape and I'm not feeling the most explorative in general hmmm |

That said, I think stress of scurrying between full-time degree and part-time work and the general fuck_dynamo of this ridiculous fucking city has given me the impetus to get back in to depressing abrasive shit with a fresh vengeance so uh hooray. Think I lost a lot of that affinity (for heavy guitar shit anyway) in Japan - nice to feel it biting again make me scream make me sulk etcetc |

That said, take out the stress and the restlessness and things are kinda great?!
My girlfriend is the best, I'm vibing better with my family than I have in a hot minute, I live in the same city as most of my friends, my course (+ hopefully subsequent career) is all about critical thinking and language and engaging creatively with the most pedantic nuance in a way that feels hugely validating having spent years studying languages without seeing them as much more than a means to an end, I've reconnected with a lot of the parts of Japanese culture I was really starting to miss, it is Christmas and loads of cute lights are up, I've been going to the gym much more and feel *good* having not done much exercise since I moved back to the UK, there's just enough free time to dip in and out of theatre mmmmhm.
