Woof Woof

The songs often feel too short, but when it’s good it’s fantastic. Pure Guava if it was more earnest and upset with life and less goofy, but still goofy. Love that t/t.

2Sonic Youth
Washing Machine

Their 3rd best I’ve heard. Only behind Sister and Daydream Nation (and I’ve heard from the debut EP up to this sooo.) “Junkie’s Promise” grew on me and the t/t and “Panty Lies” are some of their best work.

4.5/5
3Bird's Eye Batang
Flood Format

Some cool ideas here, but very little of this is what I wanted from Mid-Air Thief. All flash no substance. And not enough vocals.

2.5/5
4David Bowie
Outside

Probably his most self-indulgent release. Clearly inspired by his work with Twin Peaks, but not nearly as interesting. His industrial ideas are whatever. “The Motel” and “Hallo Spaceboy” rule though.

3/5
5The Smile
A Light For Attracting Attention

Thom and Johnny knew these songs weren’t good enough for a real Radiohead album. No, not even your favorite.

2.5/5
6Funkadelic
One Nation Under a Groove

As good as it’s reputation says it is. Somehow better than Maggot Brain. “Doo Doo Chasers” is an epic masterpiece and man is “Groovalegience” fun. Fried ice cream IS a reality.

5/5
7Os Mutantes
Jardim Elétrico

Worst of the 4 I’ve heard, but still wonderful, especially “Top Top” and “Portugal de Navio.” It’s more Beatles and less Barrett though than their previous work.

3.5/5

Tender Buttons

Video game-ish and catchy. Why isn’t this band tagged psychedelic? I guess I like The Noise Made by People more, but this still rules. Best on here is probably “Corporeal” or “America’s Boy.”
