01.04.22 | I got delta mid last year and you will feel confused. Even after it cleared up it took me weeks for my brain fog to clear up. Got tired when I tried to concentrate during that period, and only recently regained my sense of smell and taste. The feverish effects like chills and body aches came back a few times during the two weeks of active symptoms, so yeah it's not fun. Hope you recover soon. |

01.04.22 | I just got my test back as positive. Just feel like a slight fever for me. Sorry to hear you're having such a hard time my dude. |

01.04.22 | I've got it (omicron). thankfully a lot more mild than what you described, but it's been hanging around for ages. started with a really tough headache and a dry throat, then 2-3 days of fever and the sorest goddamn throat I've ever had in my life, and just a lot of extreme tiredness/low energy. today is honestly the first day I've felt kinda normal, nearly a week into this whole thing; still feels like I have a bad cold but the symptoms are starting to chill out a bit |

01.04.22 | I've never had Covid, but some I know personally have caught it (including both of my parents). My Mom and co-worker caught it months ago and still haven't regained their sense of taste and smell as far as I know, unfortunately. |

01.04.22 | I got it pretty early on but fortunately I was almost asymptomatic. Thought it was just a bad hangover at first until I got to work and my temp was just over 100. Felt better after a few days. Sorry you’re feeling so shitty dude.
Fully vaxxed now but I interact with a lot of different people at my job, and they don’t really give a shit about following any kind of guidelines here so here’s hoping I don’t catch some other variant |
Divaman
01.04.22 | I thought I had it for the last few days, although the home test came back negative. (But they're not all that reliable). In my case, the main symptom of whatever I've got (other than feeling blah and not being able to concentrate when I'm awake) is that I haven't been to keep my eyes open for most of the last two-to-three days. |

01.04.22 | Get better soon!
Personally, fortunately I didn't get it (with three Pfizers), but one of my best friend's sister died from Covid, so the dark reality really struck us and I know how serious it can be. Take care all. |

01.04.22 | I got hit in the very first wave 2 years ago, before all the first lockdowns and hysteria even popped up.
I still experience breathing problems related to this, minor issues luckily, but still present after all this time (and I didn't even got hit that hard). |

01.04.22 | I work 60 hours a week in a trauma hospital in FL. 95 percent of the people in the ICU are unvaxed and are extremely obese or over the age of 60. Just my 2 cents |

01.04.22 | It take candid courage to open yourself like that.
You will get better. The 2 vaccine shots you already received are helping even if you dont feel it. Take care Gyromania & all. |

01.04.22 | Damn dude. Happy you pulled through that tough spot, that is a gnarly experience. My wife and I just got the ‘Cron and had little to no symptoms other than a mid 99 fever and fatigue. Feel better soon |

01.04.22 | Caught covid three weeks ago. Literally thought I had a cold but got tested and it came back positive. Had mild symptoms such as coughing, sore throat and sneezing for 2-3 days, then felt fine after 5-6 days, but I know others haven't been as lucky.
Stay strong Gyro dude. |

01.04.22 | got it end of march 2020, had one night where I felt I was literally about to die, laying in bed alternating between sweating until my whole mattress was damp and then feeling bitterly cold, craziest thing i've ever caught. apart from that and losing smell/taste for a while I did ok from then on, but each variant is different of course. best wishes for coming out the other side with minimal setbacks |

01.04.22 | Sorry to hear that covid is doing such a number on you. It's downright terrifying how it can pass itself off as so mild with so many people, but then turn around and show its true colors to others. I know the science behind it is shaky, but take some vitamin D (it can't hurt?) and perhaps order a pulse oximeter on Amazon. I know when I had covid, checking my oxygen levels helped me differentiate between what was real and what was psychological when it came to perceived shortness of breath.
My experience(s) were very strange. I'm convinced I had covid before it "escaped China" circa February 2020. It started with a high fever and body aches/chills and a raw/scratchy throat. Within 2 days the fever went down from 102/103 to pretty much a persistent 99.9 that lasted for nearly a month. The sore throat got insanely unbearable in that same time to the point that I could barely sleep and all I could swallow was soup or water. I remember just having a weird feeling throughout my body that I never felt with the flu or common cold, hard to describe just a weird prickly feeling in my sinuses. Then I got weird random mouth sores and intermittent nose bleeds before I lost my sense of taste and smell, which thankfully only lasted about 2 days. All these symptoms came and went for 3 weeks and I was to the doctor multiple times in that span where they first told me it was allergies, then on the second visit threw antibiotics at me. So the funny thing about strong antibiotics is that they destroy the good bacteria in your stomach when you don't actually have an infection - so then I had to go back to the doctor a third time because I ended up testing positive for c-diff on top of everything else. Again, I never actually tested positive for covid back then; it wasn't believed to be prevalent and they wouldn't even test you unless you traveled to China. But I'm 99% convinced it was covid because I've never had anything else like that before in my life.
Then April of 2021 I got a mild sore throat and fever, got nose swabbed, and it came back positive. I had that familiar low grade fever of 99.9 ish for about a week and was really congested, but it was more cold-like which led me to believe that the February 2020 encounter was indeed my first spar with the disease because it seemed like I had at least some protective layer of immunity. I again lost my sense of taste and smell and had a few instances of shortness of breath after going up or down stairs, but it was never bad. Shortly after that I quit being stubborn and got vaccinated.
I'm sure my stories don't help you in any way but I'm just sharing since you inquired. I hope you are able to bounce back soon; please keep us updated! |
DungeonBoy
01.04.22 | damn dude, hope you're feeling better. I had the flu, crucial muscle aches and lost my sense of smell and taste for a couple weeks after being fully vaccinated. Sucked, but glad it wasn't much worse |
SteakByrnes
01.04.22 | Damn sorry it's hitting you so hard, hopefully the worst of it has passed. I got it a couple months ago but it was very mild, just slight congestion and some body soreness for a night |

01.04.22 | Pretty sure I caught covid like 2 weeks ago. It felt like a cold but it whooped my ass for like a whole week+ a couple days. Had a slightly sore throat, coughed a lot, sneezed a lot, and then eventually just got over it. Honestly just brushed it off as a cold at first til one of my friends told me it coulda been covid so idk. Hope you get well soon bruther. |
gryndstone
01.04.22 | Just got my booster shot today. A few days ago I get the news that someone I shared space in a car with caught COVID. I haven't experienced anything out of the ordinary - best case i didn't catch it, worst case I go through whatever nightmare you're going through.
I actually might've caught it last year and was just asymptomatic - my father had it and I was stuck with him. Curiously he didn't get much of a fever, but was near delirious for quite a few days. That shit sucked |
wham49
01.04.22 | I have HBP and asthma and am pretty scared as well, especially since I am a teacher and am in the same room as up to 165 kids a day who do not get vaccinated and never wear masks the right way, lucky so far but hoping to get by, I have gotten the booster |
Thalassic
01.04.22 | I caught it a year ago when I was still unvaccinated. I had a runny nose, a sore throat, a headache and loss of smell and taste for a few days. No fever and no cough, so I got off easy.
Get well soon man |
loveisamixtape
01.04.22 | i have covid rn, day like 9, and it's been relatively pretty mild for me. i've been pretty congested in eerily specific ways (ear so clogged i couldn't hear for 2 days, yet could breathe through my nose perfectly fine) and had a brief cough that is gone now. only other symptom i had was 2 days of night sweats. i'm triple vax'd also
i hope it gets easier for u though, keep takin it easy and drinking water etc |
gryndstone
01.04.22 | what scares me is how common it is for boosted people to catch omicron. obviously not the majority, but its too far from zero for me to feel comfortable going out :( Especially with the 'million new cases' headlines all across the US right now... |
loveisamixtape
01.04.22 | i know like 30 ppl that have it rn and they're all boosted. i get most of my spending money from bartending and i'm about to switch to gig work bc i do not want to catch this again and restaurants are super spreader places |

01.04.22 | get well soon
if you want to self-medicate I'd recommend aspirin, and if you think your levels might be low, vit D and zinc (but don't overdo this one), just generic advice for any viral infection really
Sowing, (also I say this to everyone who swears they had it in jan/feb 2020), at the time I remember I was looking into it myself due to all the rumours circling, and discovered that what most likely happened was influenza B - a close relative of regular flu (but distinct). It is usually a minor strain but for whatever reason the 2019/20 flu season started with mostly influenza B.
I'm actually surprised nobody in my family caught it. Yet. Despite confirmed cases being 25% of total population by now over here. Guess we don't go outside often enough. |

01.04.22 | get well soon man!
all these champs giving you advice on what might help you honestly make me really proud to be part of this website, honestly touching.
I've also heard that vit D might help a lot and I'm taking moderate amounts of it regularly pretty much since the pandemic started, so far I've been fine. |
Deathconscious
01.04.22 | My girlfriend had it, she was getting shortness of breath just from standing up and walking. I didnt have any symptoms, but i had to have had it cause we live together.
A friend of ours was struggling to breathe when she got it. My co-worker knows someone who lost their sense of taste for six months. A different co-worker has it now and is not having a good time. |

01.05.22 | Thank you all so much for the great advice and concern. I was honestly expecting a lot of troll replies and people saying covid is fake etc., So I was very happy to read through this thread and see nothing but positivity. Much love.
And it's funny but I too got sick prior to Covid breaking out and I thought it was the worst I'd ever been (until this). There was so much speculation about whether or not it came here to Canada earlier than we initially thought, but this is noticeably much different, for me. I'm going on day 5 now and my symptoms have become milder but I'm still struggling. Idk why but I also have a bit of weird stomach pain. Like I'm feeling a sensation of fullness very quickly that's preventing me from eating or drinking much |
DominionMM1
01.05.22 | same but i kept eating regardless. biggest issue i’ve had for the last few days is i (very randomly) get super tired where i can barely keep my eyes open. almost like a bad sugar crash. |
Gyromania
01.05.22 | I have that same kind of body fatigue, but I can't get comfortable enough to stay asleep for any period of time greater than like 4 hours. I'm probably massively sleep deprived but I just can't help it and it sucks |
Dedes
01.05.22 | Good luck brother, that's harsh. Seems like people have vastly polarizing reactions to this-, ranging from the mildest of colds to borderline shutdown. Eat plenty of good chicken soup and get good rest. That's all I do tbh |
DominionMM1
01.05.22 | I had that problem the first couple days but i’m back to my usual 7 hours a night. just give it some time man. get your calories and just ride it out. |
elcrawfodor
01.05.22 | I had it a few months ago during the Delta wave. Never had a fever or a cough, but the fatigue was unlike anything else I've had - it hit like a truck in the middle of a random work day (I WFH thankfully) and I immediately left and laid in bed for a few hours. Thankfully I was vax'd which I'm sure helped, and I'm sure the same will apply to you! Feel better!
EDIT: The taste thing was weird too. It didn't fully go away, but I noticed subtle flavors were gone? I couldn't taste the chocolate in my coffee, pumpkin in my beer, etc for a few weeks. |

01.05.22 | I'm double vaxxed and got the 'crom. It was like an extremely light cold for me. It lasted about 9 days. |

01.05.22 | Since my kid has been in nursery in September I’ve had about 8 different things, at least five colds, all negative covid tests though - wife’s parents came over Sunday to see the baby, I sat next to them about two hours, then they tested positive the next day, as did my sister in law who saw us Saturday. Two tests and still negative so far, maybe the vaccines are doing the job for me otherwise I expect to test positive next couple of days.
My feeling is I’ve already been exposed to covid and had it before but didn’t notice/know :/ |

01.05.22 | Hope you get better soon Gyro, have to say your account is by far worse than anyone I know who has had it.
It didn’t kill my granddad but he recovered from it but never really got his spirit back and died about two months later - plus didn’t get to visit him before he passed. It sounds bad but he was effectively ‘closing down’ ready to die anyway, he had stopped reading the newspaper/watching TV/eating his favourite foods etc - he was done. I just think covid was the final straw. |
