Top 55 metalcore albums

I was not too much into metalcore, so for this list i've been listening to it (subgenres included) for over a month. This list is pretty subjective and will piss off some folks so if you disagree don't be an idiot and argue like a human being
55Integrity
Those Who Fear Tomorrow

Not the biggest fan out here but sure they influenced the genre a lot, plus that bass sounds great
54Norma Jean
Polar Similar

These christian guys know how to play heavy stuff
53Haste the Day
Attack of the Wolf King

Awesome album with the traditional melodic metalcore formula, what makes it good is the lack of fillers
52Erra
Augment

Djenty and ethereal, the clean high pitched choruses are great
51Underoath
Define the Great Line

A little bit overrated but still a great lp
50Dry Kill Logic
The Dead and Dreaming

They switched from nu metal (one of the most aggressive ever tbh) to metalcore without changing too much, paper tiger is flawless and the acoustic final track is really awesome too
49Deadguy
Fixation on a Coworker

One of the most influential works for the mathcore genre
48The Human Abstract
Digital Veil

Basically neoclassical metalcore
47From Autumn To Ashes
Too Bad You're Beautiful

Except some cringeworthy lyrics the album works very well, the dirty sound combined to melodic guitar work and post hardcore vocals makes this worth listening, the duet in the last track is the highlight of the album
46In This Moment
Beautiful Tragedy

Maria was great in this, the lyrics are pretty upsetting at times
45HORSE the band
R. Borlax

Never tought i would love a genre called Nintendocore, but here i am
44Avenged Sevenfold
Waking the Fallen

Say what you want about a7x, neither i am a huge fan, they are pretty overrated. This album is really great though, vocals and instrumentation is without any doubt more than enjoyable, Second Heartbeat is their finestbwork, the only flaw is the muzzled drum production
43Parkway Drive
Horizons

Iconic melodic metalcore, heavy and emotional
42August Burns Red
Constellations

The guitar work is just outstanding here, the album is a little bit repetitive but still an awesome one
41Heaven Shall Burn
Antigone

Melodic death metal dynamics blended with metalcore sound, a pretty dark one
40Gaza
I Don't Care Where I Go When I Die

Gaza managed to blend metalcore with grind and a sludgy sound creating one of the heaviest albums in the subgenre
39Acoda
Yours To Defend

Maybe the most unknown work here, it's a shame
38Bury Tomorrow
The Union Of Crowns

This grew on me with time, the cleans are flawless, maybe it's a little bit long but nonetheless a great modern worl. An honourable kingdom is their best track yet
37Zao
Where Blood and Fire Bring Rest

While i'm not a fan of the vocals, the instrumentation has an apocalyptic vibe that makes gives chills
36Oh, Sleeper
Children Of Fire

Nice balance between heavy and technical with acoustic parts, every single song is worth listening
35Killswitch Engage
Alive or Just Breathing

Why nobody mention element of one?
34Reflux
The Illusion Of Democracy

Maybe the most technical bass performance on metalcore
33myGRAIN
myGRAIN

Futuristic melodeathcore with super catchy choruses
32Burn in Silence
Angel Maker

Ex members of death metal band goratory created an epic core work with perfect keyboards use and melancholic cleans alternated to some of the most aggressive riffs in the subgenre
31Soilwork
The Panic Broadcast

The best from their metalcore era, the growls are cleaner than the other albums making some tracks almost thrasy, Dirk's drumming is outstanding, the alternation between full blasting pieces and melancholic ones makes this better than stabbing the drama
30Shai Hulud
Hearts Once Nourished With Hope...

One of the first bands to combine hardcore with melodeath style guitar work
29This Day Forward
The Transient Effects of Light on Water

One of the best sophomore albums in the genre, they did what shai hulud already done but with a personal touch that i like little more
28Born Of Osiris
The Discovery

A cosmic journey
27My Heart to Fear
Algorithm

Sounds like a more accessible reflux with djent influences, great cleans and futuristic approach
26Hotwire
The Routine

Another underappreciated work, 1/3 post hardcore, 1/3 metalcore and 1/3 alternative
25All That Remains
The Fall of Ideals

This calling is flawless, the first half of the album is pretty accessible, the second one slightly heavier. Too bad they went downhill after this
24Skycamefalling
10.21

The dull production makes it even better and somehow darker, the instrumentals are truly great
23While She Sleeps
This Is the Six

Nice combination of melodies, heavy riffs and post hardcore gang choruses
22Divine Heresy
Bleed the Fifth

Tim Yeung's drumming are unbelievable, Vext growls and cleans are an.highlight too.
Dino Cazares created a sort of groove/metalcore Version of Fear factory
21Hypno5e
Acid Mist Tomorrow

Gloomy Atmospheric prog metalcore, you have to listen it in the dark
20Every Time I Die
Low Teens

Catchy, heavy and memorable. A nice blending of hardcore, metalcore, punk and southern rock
19In flames
Come Clarity

Their best post clayman work, the chaotic production fits well, Anders vocals are pretty good (except on the title track, he sounds like he's coming). Take this life and crawl through knives are some of their best tracks ever
18Kiss It Goodbye
She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not

Sounds like a cynical noisy inner monologue.
17Phinehas
thegodmachine

Guitar melodies are pretty damn great but the vocals are the strongest part of the lp. I love how they harmonized backwards sounds.
16Counterparts
The Difference Between Hell and Home

Melodic hardcore that depicts perfectly depression in 36 minutes
15This or the Apocalypse
Dead Years

An Underrated satyrical, heavy and technical work
14Botch
We Are the Romans

I know this is for many people a top 3 pick, but i don't feel like it's such masterpiece (just my opinion), just an awesome mathcore gem with some of the most uncommon tracks in the genre
13Poison the Well
The Opposite of December

Pioneers of post hardcore influenced metalcore, this is one of the most influential lp s in the genre
12SikTh
The Trees Are Dead & Dried Out...

One of The most absurd albums of the list, odd vocals, weird atmospheres and super technical riffs
11Unearth
Watchers of Rule

One of the finest guitar work in metalcore
10The Dillinger Escape Plan
Option Paralysis

I feel like i'm the only one to prefer this to their other works but imo this is their most complete album ever, the fusion of different genres, the Pattonesque influence and keyboards makes this one of the most original albums in metal
9Ice Nine Kills
The Silver Scream

Maybe i enjoyed this more than i should but i have a soft spot on horror classics, one of the most fun albums ever. The performance is flawless and i love how they transformed horror OST in metal. The IT songs is epic, sounds like dog fashion disco-core
8Protest the Hero
Fortress

One of the most technical album in the genre, vocals reminds me of Dabin from Toxik, great prog core album
7Fear Before
The Always Open Mouth

Another weird one, a large amount of genres in here, such as post hardcore, indie, metalcore, industrial and more. One of the best experimental albums of the last years
6Hopesfall
The Satellite Years

An uplifting sensation, space atmosphere and yet heavy
5Darkest Hour
Deliver Us

Sometimes is closer to melodeath but still full of metalcore elements, there are lots of masterpieces in here, doomsayer is a metal anthem, paradox with flies is truly deep and ethereal drain's melody wi stuck in your head
4Destrage
The King Is Fat'N'Old

Italian genius. The crazy lyrics are beyond funny, Paulovich's drumming is perfcect, Paolo's vocals are catchy and awesome, the experimentation is all over (chrck out how they created the lyrics for wayout). Jade's place and neverending mary are among my favorites songs ever.
3Between the Buried and Me
Colors

A transcendental masterpiece, nothing more, nothing less
2Trivium
Shogun

It was hard to decide tbe winmer between ascendancy and this, but shogun's epic vibes wins the competition. Every single track is out of this world, i low how the album begins with an acoustic version of the final track's chorus. Every member shines, The lyrics mainly about legends are pretty dope too
1Converge
Jane Doe

Any doubt? The definition of structured chaos. Jane Doe's beautiful yet haunting vibes will stuck under your skin. A dark inner journey through suffering
