Been on this site for half a decade... oh well. List is "Ars-core." I don't define Ars-core as my favorites per se, but rather artists who make music that is goofy and possibly disjointed, often involve made up characters, and are genre diverse within the same album. For instance: I adore Portishead's Dummy, but it isn't "Ars-core" you know? |

"Lady Madonna" "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" and countless others, how could I not? This was the first band I ever loved, so maybe they helped shape my taste. |

PJ Harvey and Tom Waits don't quite count, but they do create a ton of characters and are pretty musically diverse (they're not really goofy though.)
