"Black Screen"

It started off promising, but all it did was drag, and drag, and drag. Seriously, listening to the last 3 minutes of this song was like watching paint dry. If you're going to drag something out at least put in a little more emotion or excitement beforehand. This is supposed to be a dance punk album, right?

Okay, so now we've reached the songs worth re-listening to. The concept here is pretty cool, it's bright and emotional, but it could use more going on. With that said, it's really sweet and kind of pretty, so good enough!

"Other Voices"

So this is "Pow Pow," but way less interesting, right? The only difference is that I love "Pow Pow" so this ends up being pretty cool. Plus Nancy saves this from being forgettable too because I don't believe she's had a part like that before... then again I still need to check the debut.

"American Dream"

Now THIS is how you write a slow song. Fuck all of the other slow songs on here honestly, this one has the passion, is somehow catchy, and an interesting maturity to it. Why was "Call the Police" the lead single and not this? Then again, this is a dance punk band, why wasn't the lead single something more upbeat? Whatever, this is good.

"Tonite"

Well this is super fun and it doesn't remind me of better songs by them from previous albums! The voice that says "tonite" is fun and the lyrics are interesting, and I like the beat a lot. It also doesn't drag on too long. Man, I wish the entire album was as good as this as this and "American Dream."
