Some actual top 10 Nu-Metal

Inb4 "some of these aren't entirely nu-metulz", whatever album you're talking about you're probably correct and yet I included it anyway. If it meets the criteria of having nu-metal in the mix I considered it free game. That said, these are all solid nu-metal jams that are as unbreakable as a bad abbreviation and a hyphen rolled into one genre tag. Ranked from least nu-metalish to most-ish kinda.
1Incubus
S.C.I.E.N.C.E.

Yeah the link is tenuous but this album funks and grooves and rules. It's checks enough boxes for me to lump it in with the other albums here.
2Helmet
Meantime

[2] for the justification, but minus the funky bit, this is more post-hardcore-y or something I guess, but if you squint a little it looks like nu-metal.
3System of a Down
System of a Down

Yes there's a lot going on here, someone managed to spill a bit of nu-metal onto SOAD and the stain didn't wash off for a little while. Note the lack of Staind on this list and then note the un-noteworthiness of Staind's lacking...yeah.
4Sepultura
Roots

It's not the Sepultura we deserve but the one we need right now. Now meaning then. Need meaning hyperbole. Anyway this album actually rules and of you think otherwise remember that the line-up after this took like 2 decades to top it.
5Deftones
Around the Fur

I'm not a big fan of the 'Tones. Or this album even. Don't get me wrong it's a solid one, but it gets overhyped simply for being a Deftones album imo. It's just good-great, nothing more.
6Snot
Get Some

Snot, and slobber on the cover.
7Love and Death
Between Here And Lost

Head actually did it, this rules.
8Slipknot
Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)

Slipknot at their most balanced, not as fun as the s/t or as aggressive as IOWA, but it hits right in the middle and avoids the problems of both the preceding releases.
9Korn
Korn

Pioneering band makes good debut. Enough said.

But I'm going to say more because Korn have a special place in my heart and were instrumental in getting me interested in instruments. And music in general. Check this album and the 4-5 after it for some good nu-metal done right.
10Mudvayne
L.D. 50

Hands down the best. Not even a contest. Album is better than the band that made it. Not even an exaggeration.
