DrGonzo1937 yeah, im exactly the same mate haha. i also have the crux of being stubborn af and refusing to admit defeat on a book that sucks, so i stick with it at a snail's pace; 1 page feels like reading 20 haha.not at all, lb comparisons are a compliment! thanks for checking it. DrGonzo1937 nice. ive got it on my wishlist now, so will definitely get round to reading it. problem with me is i have so many books piling up and dont have the time to read them. most of them arent quick reads either. really frustrating haha. and yeah man, deep sands it was. we naturally disbanded when covid hit. i used to work with the rapper in despicable and i said id have a throwaway jam with him, because i knew he was a great rapper, and its just snowballed into what were doing now. DrGonzo1937 btw, shameless plug. my band is plastered all over the front page if you havent had chance to check my new record haha tyman kindly reviewed them for me. if you were to only check one, i think youd dig BC because its more rock metal orientated. would love to know what you think September 22 08:11 AM
DrGonzo1937 aye, dont get me wrong, im not a stoic myself, though my mindset does align with a lot of it. i need to dive more into epicureanism tbf, though i greatly disagree with its teachings from what ive read (surface-level mind). any recommendations? September 22 08:09 AM
DrGonzo1937 awh mate, it changed my life. i read it about 6 years ago and i've never looked back. you should read how to think like a roman emperor by donald robertson first, because he puts everything into context. fanastic book. it's what got me into marcus, and what became the impetus for me falling in love with ancient rome and any kind of history book i can get my hands on at this point haha.
