08.22.16 | I'm having withdrawals from not buying CDs lately so I'm more or less going to use the thread as a reference point for what I may considering purchasing when I drive to the record store |

08.22.16 | Fear befores always open mouth cd booklet was kind of interesting in that the actual lyric/scrapbook was hidden away inside the cd case and since it was a white vase you wouldn't think about checking it initially. |

08.22.16 | Outkast's ATLiens booklet is pretty much a comic book. |

08.22.16 | Yeah CDs are dope. I usually buy over 100 a year |

08.22.16 | I'm around 70 so far this year. Most of that was before June and I've been pretty much broke since then :( |

My bedroom is running out of space for CDs and I have no room to put my Bjork CD booklet lol |

08.22.16 | I buy like 95% of mine online. Cheaper, and there are no record stores near me. |

08.22.16 | The booklet for Anathema's A Natural Disaster is amazing. It has some beautiful artwork and some kind of haunting quotes that are incorporated into the art. The lyrics of the album are all in a big collage in the centre of the booklet. The booklet actually made me appreciate the meaning of the album a lot more tbh |

08.22.16 | CDs are underrated [3]
Best CD booklet has to be Vektor's Black Future. Has a mini poster of the sick album art + a bunch of awesome notes by the members. |

08.22.16 | CDs at record stores are dirt cheap in my area. Got A Love Supreme for like two dollars. Retail stores are where they're expensive af. |

08.22.16 | The record store I go to sells CDs for stupid cheap (used ones anyway). It's called Rasputin Music and is a chain limited to select locations here in Cali.
Got Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness for $3.95 and The Fragile for $2.95. If that isn't a steal idk what is |

Some of them are really awesome, like when you get a whole media book and stuff. |

08.22.16 | At my local Wonderbook they are way over stocked on CDs and they've been doing a buy two get two free deal for like as long as I can remember. Pretty much where I get all my pre 2007 hip hop CDs from. |

08.22.16 | My record store has always had a policy of buy 10 used CDs, get $10 off. Same applies to video games there but I've never been a gamer person |

08.22.16 | When I visit my sister in Kelowna I go Underground music, and it's expensive af even for used ones. I have a soft spot for it though, because I got my first Neurosis cd there |
Claystation
08.22.16 | I only buy vinyl because I am in vogue. Nah jk I love my cds. I think my two favorites are Fleet Foxes' Helplessness Blues and Tunng's And Then We Saw Land. The Fleet Foxes one lets you see all the detail that went into the cover art. The Tunng one is just a different piece of art that's cool. |

08.22.16 | Frances the Mute booklet is pretty cool. |

08.22.16 | Seeing what the booklet is is pretty much the only reason why I still buy CDs. My favourite of all time is the packaging for Linkin Park's Meteora. Man that booklet is so fat. |
Pheromone
08.22.16 | Defeater - Empty Days had a generally fantastic album in general. The entire thing worked as a booklet |

08.22.16 | "Seeing what the booklet is is pretty much the only reason why I still buy CDs." a huge part of why CDs are underrated |
CaimanJesus
08.22.16 | Downfall of gaia - suffocating in the swarm of cranes is pretty cool too. It doesn't have an actual booklet, but on the inside of the digipack it explains the album's concept and came with 2 pretty dope stickers of the album art and bands logo. I put em on my cd player. |

08.22.16 | Oh damn, Marilyn Manson's Holy Wood also has a great CD booklet that I have. The artwork and some subtle things in the lyrics (like how "celebritarianism" is actually trademarked) is really awesome |

08.22.16 | if i'm gonna listen to digital music in my car itll be through my flashdrives or phone, if I'm on my computer then a FLAC library or online, if I'm chillin with some people Im not gonna bust out my CD collection imma just hook up my phone to an aux. the whole reason CDs began to outsell vinyl was convienience it seemed and now theres just things that are more convienient
the packaging looks like office supplies, and the artwork isnt really big enough to get me to collect them anymore, unlike vinyl which being analog has value in itself imo. and although I love record LPs I get that theyre hella overpriced but thats why i also buy tapes here and there for way cheaper
just my opinions tho, im not hating on anyone who has an interest in collecting music |

09.01.16 | With CDs you get a digital copy anyway if you want it, and the CD quality is higher. Plus you get something physical for your money (unless you're blackbearding shit) and plenty of CDs have been cheaper than their digital counterpart. Additionally, there some awesome stuff on disc you can't find online, bonus tracks, bonus DVDs, plus the cool booklets and the feeling of building a proper collection are cool perks as well. I can feel somewhat proud of my CD collection, I don't see what's to brag about in a collection of pirated digital music when anyone could imitate the whole thing in like a day. If you're paying for your digital music though then credit where it's due, a Bandcamp library is a cool insight. Support the industry guys. |
