Odd genre tags for Artists on Sput
1Kayo Dot
Choirs of the Eye

If these guys are progressive then Godspeed You! and Naked City are also progressive. Kayo Dot is essentially a post rock band with heavy jazz/avant-garde influences combined with heavy riffs. No odd time signatures like Tool's music or complicated song structures like Rush or even Pink Floyd. Kayo just has really long songs with occasional changes of pace similar to jazz and chamber music.
2The Velvet Underground
White Light/White Heat

How exactly are these guys psychedelic? Honest question because hardly any songs by The VU can be properly labeled as psychedelic and the few songs that even fit that description come from the first album (Heroin, The Black Angel's Death Song, and All Tomorrow's Parties). Other than that it's quite challenging to make a point saying that White Light/White Heat, the s/t, and Loaded are psychedelic. The VU is instrumental in the development of punk music and revolutionized experimental and, dare I say, "alternative" music by taking noise/avant-garde music that The Beatles' "Revolution 9" brought to the masses and taking it to ends so extreme it was something that was simply far ahead of its time.
3Motorhead
Ace of Spades

I can understand that "heavy metal" is a loose term for bands like Motorhead, Led Zeppelin, and even the likes of Guns N' Roses, but anyone who has a brain about Motorhead knows that simply calling them "metal" is a disservice to what the band stands for. This nitpick is simply something not born from Lemmy's death but rather the band being not only the vocal, tangible idealism of Rock N Roll, but also punk rock. Sure, Motorhead is instrumental in making Speed Metal and heavy metal popular, but, frankly, they're not that heavy.
4Lana Del Rey
Born to Die

"Dream pop." Cmon now it was just one album out of however many other LPs and EPs she's released
5Pink Floyd
Live at Pompeii

So Tyler, the Creator can get the "experimental" tag but not Pink Floyd?
6Steven Wilson
4 1/2

Frankly, I'm not very sure what makes Mr. Wilson's solo work "progressive." I mean his solo albums sound rather watered down in their progressive sounds especially when you compare it to the likes of, say, The Whirlwind or even Deadwing
