| Bird Seed Ranked
I wanted to do this epic, thought-provoking review for it, but it already has like 2 reviews and it wouldn't seem so epic i guess, so i'll just do the next best thing instead: A ranking. | | 1 | | Whitehouse Bird Seed
"Bird Seed" - Arguably the harshest track on the entire record: A 15-minute sound collage composed of various interviews of victims of rape, child abuse, domestic violence, and so on. It feels much longer than it really is, making for an absolutley grueling listen. Perhaps the best part of the track is the last minute, where we hear a woman talk about how we need to teach children that it's okay to confess their abuser's wrong deeds to other people, only to be followed up by a sample of a woman blaming herself for her child's abduction. Absolutley heart breaking. | | 2 | | Whitehouse Bird Seed
"Why You Never Became A Dancer" - This track tackles the concept of profiting off of rape and domestic violence. William Bennett sounds absolutley pissed here, as he should be, spewing nasty, confrontational thoughts, images, and sounds left to right. Absolutley exhilarating. | | 3 | | Whitehouse Bird Seed
"Munkisi Munkondi" - This one gets me every time, mostly instrumental, the synthesizers screech and squeal, building up as time goes on. A warbled, messy bass tone slips in the track, and everything stops, being replaced by a monologue spoken in a foreign language. Absolutley entertaining. | | 4 | | Whitehouse Bird Seed
"Wriggle Like A Fucking Eel" - Perhaps the most violent track here, the squealing synths that layer the clipped, unrelentlessly brutal instrumentation is enough to make your heart pound, and the shouting of "Wriggle like a fucking eel" is something that will stay in your head for days. Absolutely vicious. | | 5 | | Whitehouse Bird Seed
"Philosophy" - One of the darker songs this album warrants. The synths drone and churn for what feels like infinity, and Bennett whispers absolutley cruel and disturbing insults in a cold manner that puts you in the shoes of people who deal with abusive relationships. Absolutley scary. | | 6 | | Whitehouse Bird Seed
"Cut Hands Has The Solution" - The simplistic drum beat numbs your mind as the trio tackles the issue that is using depression and self-harm as a means of getting your way. Fucking harsh and down to earth. Absolutley angry. | |
