09.13.14 | All the main 3d entries (III, Vice City, San Andreas, IV, and V) are great. San Andreas is probably my favorite. I don't have much experience with I and II or either of the Stories games, but I imagine they would be phone in their own right. I have played through Chinatown Wars on DS and it was very good, almost as addictively fun as the console games. I know it was eventually released on PSP and other things, though. I think it is one of the most underrated games in the series and many people denounce it just because it wasn't as large as the other games and didn't have the best graphics.
Wanna check out 9. 8 and 10 are classics. |

09.13.14 | San Andreas is the most fun and is probably the best. Although I really love the characters, music and over all style In Vice City. It was my first GTA game so it goes down as my favorite, even though it is kinda limited.
Also about Vice City Stories, i was enjoying it a ton before i lost my save data an got to mad too restart lol.
Honestly all 3 of the games are good and classic to me. Since your just now playing them though, you may have a little difficultly getting used to the somewhat sluggish aiming and slightly dated gameplay mechanics but if you can look past em and get used to to it, your in for a hell of a good time. |

San Andreas is one of my fav games of all time, I spent so much time on that. Best story, dialogue, characters, soundtrack, everything. So memorable. I know that game like the back of my dick. Vice City rules because it's the '80s and it's basically Scarface: The Game aka two of the best things ever combined. The only thing with those older ones are the graphics, which look really dated going back to them now, and the controls. I'm so used to V's controls that sometimes I find it difficult to play SA and VC.
VCS is decent, but I never ended up beating it because I got stuck on one level then my PS2 broke and I never returned to it. |

09.14.14 | the PS2 games improved each time in terms of gameplay, although I kinda prefer VC to SA cos of the 80s/Scarface feel as tempest-- said. there's nothing quite like dragging someone out of a car, killing them and then driving around listening to Toto, Joe Jackson or Slayer. I imagine 3 would feel pretty lackluster now with the silent character you play as and very limited options for spending the money you make.

09.14.14 | I'm playing Vice City on my PS3 and I can't figure out how to center the camera behind my car. It does it sometimes, but other times (when pressing R2) it will center to the front or side of the car. I'm really enjoying the atmosphere but this is really fucking up my playing. Help! |

V has the better world and gameplay etc. but IV had one of my favorite stories in gaming period. Niko is so tragic and sad in a lot of ways. I liked how unamericanized he was as well. |

Basically when I enter a car, the camera never centers on the back of the car like it should, but instead centers on the side of the car and changing the view only centers it on the front of the car (thus I can't see where I'm going). I'm getting desperate so I uninstalled it and will check to see if that works. Plus L2 is supposed to affect the camera, but it doesn't seem to do anything, only R2. |

09.19.14 | There's no doubt that the main games between III and V are some of the best video games ever, but it's always bothered me how people forget about the first couple of games. The original game was incredibly fun! I still have the soundtrack for it, actually--you could put the game in a cd player and listen to the songs from each radio station.
Try making a stunt jump from a top-down perspective. You can't even tell if there's a wall in front of you, or if it's just an empty concrete sidewalk. |

Apart from the much-heralded 'look guys, you can have more than 1 character now" V felt pretty stale to me. Looked great and beautifully designed world, but the world itself is barely utilised properly in single-player, and the story is pretty atrocious. Some great missions, but the Trevor-Michael dynamic got old quick, and you spent 3/4 of the game acting as couriers for 2 interchangeable "bad guys" |
