Filth Ranked

Radom semi-classic ranking XD
9Swans
Filth

"Freak" - The closest thing to a filler track on the entire album. Just a minute of Gira
shouting random crap over an uninteresting instrumental. I WANT WHAT YOU GOOOOOT

"Gang" - This is by far one of the most uninteresting closers to an album, ever. Which is
a damn shame, since the rest of this record is mind-blowingly fascinating. The lyrics are
pretty depressing, but that's the only real memorable part of the track. HEAVEN AINT
REAL (?)

"Right Wrong" - This track actually features some jazz-influences, with the
instrumentation and such. Much like "Power for Power", this track is about corruption in
money and power and how easy it is to fall down the bad path. WROOOOOONG
RIIIIIIGHT

"Thank You" - Here, Michael Gira has a semi-minimalistic approach to the bass, playing
only one note through out the entire track. Again, the drums are solid and very well
done, and this track has by far the most quotable lyrics. THIS SMELLS SOOOOOOOUUUR

"Weakling" - The bass is super heavy, the guitars are unapologetically noisy, and the
drums flawlessly glue together the instruments. I'm pretty sure this track is about being
abducted and locked up, Gira's vocal performance is my evidence. He shrieks of pure
agony here. THIS ISNT REEEEEEAAAL

"Big Strong Boss" - This sounds like the result of a group of drug addicts making a new
wave song, and it's awesome. The drums are loud, violent, and energetic, and the band
actually sounds like they're having a fun time for once. The lyrics are bleak as usual, but
delivered in a somewhat "light-hearted" sorta way. STUPID. SNAKE.

"Blackout" - One of the scariest tracks here, the back up vocals are tuned down, which
makes them sound like the devil himself is whispering in your ear. The lyrics are
demanding and cruel. I remember listening to this with the lights off, scared the hell out
of me. BREEEEAAATH IIIIIIN, BREEEEAAATH OOOOOUT

"Power for Power" - Now this is an unpleasant song, describing corruption in power, the
chorus brings images of poverty and depression. Very upsetting track, POWEEER FOR
POWEEEEEEEER

"Stay Here" - First track really is the best, It sets the mood for the album: Brutal,
violent, upsetting, and disgusting. The bass is hypnotic, the guitars are made completely
out of jagged feedback, and the drums clash and bang so much that they bring shivers
down your back. FLEEEEX YER MUSCLESSSSS
