Nokturnal Mortum are a black metal band from Ukraine. Their style of folk influenced black metal is original, diverse, and different from most black metal of its kind. There is a distinctly medieval sound which adds a great deal of individualism to the band. Nokturnal Mortum evolved from a variety of different bands, starting in 1991 when the band Suppuration broke up. A new band by the name of Crystalline Darkness was created and by the year 1994 this band had evolved into Nokturnal Mortum.
