AAFCC return with a little beast of an album. Definitely their peak in both production and musicianship, the more I listen the more I find things to remember in each song. I have always loved their drummer and here is no exception, more varied than ever. It's an album with a lot of energy and very little wasted time, my major complaint is that I crave more of those blast beats found in the climax of Fragility. At the moment I'm captured by the exuberancy of The Golden Years when it kicks into gear and the piano-driven climaxes of The Silence Inside. Or the main theme of the t/t. Or the infectious drumming of Hiding in the Dark. Or-

Paradise Lost Believe In Nothing (Remixed/Remastered)
It does indeed achieve one thing: make the album sound more metal. However, the price paid is a sound that is also flatter and more plastic. Busy moments like the snare-heavy parts of "Sell It to the World" sound annoyingly flat and the songs sound at times muffled (just listen to the drums in "Divided"...). Still, the remix deserves credit for drawing me to this album, which turns out isn't bad at all, albeit stiff and formulaic. Ultimately I'd say there isn't a winner between this and the original, it depends on how gross you find modern productions to be. Props for the new artwork, though they could have at least kept the original font. Fa
