They later signed to Hi or Hey Records, founded by 5 Seconds of Summer, who they supported on the Rock Out With Your Socks Out and Sounds Live, Feels Live tours. Shipp joined the band in September 2016. They have since veered into more of an electronic pop direction with the release of the EP Brand New Moves in 2016 and their first LP as Hey Violet, From the Outside in 2017.
