Northern State was a female alternative hip-hop trio which formed in 2000 in Long Island. The group consists of Hesta Prynn (Julie Potash), Spero (Correne Spero) and Sprout (Robyn Goodmark). They have released two EP’s: Hip Hop You Haven't Heard (2002) and Dying in Stereo (2003) and two full length albums: All City (2004) and Can I Keep This Pen? (2007). Northern State have been on a mysterious hiatus since 2010.
