Rings of Saturn

Rings of Saturn is a technical death metal/deathcore band from the California Bay Area. The band was founded by high school friends Lucas Mann, Peter Pawlak, and Brent Siletto. This lineup recorded and self-released the band's debut album, Embryonic Anomaly. The band acquired a full lineup in 2011 and the album was re-released through Unique Leader Records. This lineup recorded and self-released the band's debut album, Embryonic Anomaly. The band acquired a full lineup in 2011 and the album was re-released through Unique Leader Records. After going through a number of lineup changes, the band recorded their sophomore album Dingir in 2012 (with Lucas Mann being the only original member.) The album was made available as a free download in October of 2012 (partly because a low-quality pre-production version of the album leaked online), but due to legal issues was not released by Unique Leader Records until February of 2013. The band plays a style of extreme metal that is a mixture of technical death metal and deathcore, combining fast, technical guitar sweeps with ambient elements to create a genre the band jokingly refers to as "aliencore." The band has toured with other extreme metal bands such as Between the Buried and Me, Cannibal Corpse, Cattle Decapitation, Job for a Cowboy, The Faceless, and Suffocation. « hide
