Ozzy, or Sharon, realize in order to survive in today's music climate, one has to adapt and become more mainstream accessible, that means the older guys have to bring in the hip younger artists to try to pull in the younger crowd. It works at times but fails more often then it works, it really hasn't worked well for Cooper, he's brought in tons of hip modern stars, and then he has Depp in Hollywood Vampires, still no go with the mainstream in the US. All the bands still do rather well in Europe however, and since they buy more physical albums in Japan and the UK, which is a bigger profit than what they get from streaming services, they're all still doing rather well.
I haven't heard Ordinary Man yet, last Ozzy album I heard was Black Rain, and I faintly remember kind of liking it more than Ozzmosis. But for me personally, he hit his peak with No More Tears and then started to slide downhill. He did do a solid song with Type O Negative but it was just for a film or something. Damn, I miss Type O Negative but if Peter hadn't died, they'd probably be doing all sorts of weird stuff to try to stay relevant, he'd probably have done a duet with Katy Perry. ;)
