calling this indie is a MAJOR stretch

i thought the days of having it's time, radioactive and demons on the radio simultaneously were bad...then believer became a thing

I actually thought this was pretty great. I expected to hate it after their shitty previous album but can’t hate it.
“Believer” and “Thunder” suck, I’ll agree, but outside of the singles it’s actually really good.
“Rise Up” is probably my favorite, although I’m almost 99% sure that it and “Demons” are the same song

For the lols pretty much
|

I mean I'm not sure about any songs on this album, but songs from their other albums are awful so I'm not surprised
I Bet My Life is painful

Literally, why do you guys listen to albums you know you're going hate?
because in some cases you don't have a choice (via friends/etc.)

plus you don't always 100% know you're going to hate a record prior to hearing it. i mean, in some cases you can be *almost* certain, but i've been pleasantly surprised dozens of times regarding albums i thought i'd abhor.

I came for the review and thought it was well written. Imagine Dragons, in my opinion, haven't gained their footing to establish them as a dominant act. They have been in the same box for the past 7 years and haven't "evolved" much. They don't have anything a listener can dig into lyrically nor do they have anything promising instrumentally. One could argue the Twenty One Pilots have done more for alternative rock in less time than Imagine Dragons, but all else considered, Imagine Dragons are missing the integral quality of creativity more than anything.

If it works in the night clubs you're doing it right.
Typical music for kissing your friend until the end of the party.
|
| |
Unfortunately you are correct. Aesthetics are everything in the genre of music Imagine Dragons sell.
|
| |
Take the worst of tame impala, foster the people and twenty one pilots, mix it and you got imagine dragos.
|
| |
Has Foster the People ever released an actual good song?
|
| |
Eh it depends if you consider pumped up kicks a good song. but I think is mostly popular because of the Columbine related lyrics more than the music itself.
|
| |
Imagine Dragons has NEVER sounded like tame impala wtf

I always regarded Imagine Dragons as a Coldplay ripoff, but now they're a Coldplay ripoff with lazy electropop bullshit as well
|

"Pumped Up Kicks" was a decent song, but I wouldn't give it more than a 3/5. I thought it told the story in an unconventional way, but I feel like the sound they chose was what made the song as scrutinized as it was. I mostly enjoyed how it turned the music industry for a loop. The band literally came out of nowhere.
