Kanye was really ahead of his time with the sampling on here. Kanye proved in 2005 that you
not need to be "hard" to drop some fire. I do not think their is a single bad thing i can
say about this, and it might be one of my fave rap releases ever (i know, not an uneque

on his third outing, lecrae makes the nearly perfect christian rap album (would be perfect if not for the weak beat on the closing track), the album is full of absolute bangers and some of the best lyrics of lecraes early realises. the album hs more personaity then his first 2 albums and has aged pretty well.

Lecrae Anomaly5.0
"Anomoly" is one of those albums I did not have a good first impression of. Sure I liked it but I felt fidsappinted by it as a whole and thought it was a pretty significant step down from gravity. But then the more I listened to it the more it would grow on me, their would be something new I would find to appreciate. At first I only liked the back half and "welcome to Amarica" and then I started to like more and more of the front half tracks to the point where my least favriote song on the album, "say I wont" which I outright disliked at first i actully enjoy quite a bit. The thing that through me off with "anomaly" compared to "gravity" is that this record is not nearly as cohesive, in fact their are some weird mood shifts, but like thsts the point on this album, when you go from tracks like "nothin" to "fear". One common complaint about the album is the CCM songs "messangers" and "give In" and as someone who usally very strongly dislikes those kind of songs, I really don't mind them here, in fact "Give In" is one of my personal favriotes on the record. I also really found the direction of particer tracks to pay off in the instrumental, beat and delivery on cuts like "anomoly", "timepiece", "fear" and "runners". Is this album as Good as gravity? No but it is still really good in its own right and at least deserves to be mentioned as one of his best albums.

No matter how many listens I give of this album, I never get tired of it. And when I do find myself wanting to hear a track from it, I usally end up doing a full spin of the album or at least half of it. The production on this albums quite amazing, this is is start of lecrae including some conteveresal topics that would later see him hated by alot of Christians like police brutality, or working with non Christian artists and it is a welcome addition to his style. This is the album that took lecrse out of the neshe of being that one christan rapper 3 people heard of at the local youth group. "Gravity" deserves every bit of praise it gets because it's an album that does so many things right that sometimes the things it does right is not even what the album was neesisarly attempting to do (like the entire album having such a strong althsteic that you would think this is a concept album), This album has aged so unbelievably well that in 2021 it sounds brand new. This is one of those albums where every feature really does bring some heat, and where the album artist is able to match that such on tracks like "fakin" and "power trips". Hooks on this album are another great standout like "free from it all", "tell the world", and "walk with me". The beats and instrumental on this album is just another aspect I cannot give enough praise. This honestly is my favriote rap album, and rediscovering it over the summer was definitely a treat.

Lecrae's debut while being very much of a product of its time, is filled with many great hooks and moments to be enjoyed like it's secular counterparts. "The church" is a pretty weak cut and the album does get significantly weaker past the 5th track mark compared to how hard the first 5 songs are, it's not enough to say the songs are bad or that they ruin the album. This is just more of a 'if it isn't broken don't fix it' sorta thing which is why the album works more for a fun casual listen and not a serious sit-down listen. Also the percussion mix on the last song was kinda rough. Other then that Lecraes debut is actully pretty solid and at least worth hearing on the first 5 songs.

Alright hot take here: I actully kind of like this. Its radio friendly metalcore but not done as yet another that's the spirit copy. However, that being said this albums biggest problem is that it is bloated as hell. This album has no business being 15 tracks and having a hour long runtime. The album did not need the filler when their is already about 11 strong tracks and it really does sour the listening experence. Listing to this album goes from "this is the stuff" to "okay please can this song end so we can get to the next one" over the course of this albums runtime. Honestly this album would of been much better if tracks 11-14 were cut, that would be a 4.5 record for me.

right now my opinion is kinda split on this one, one one hand the rock tracks have way more punch than they did on "You can't kill us" and are one of the biggest strengths of the album sounding right out of the Linkin Parks "the hunting party", on the other hand, the ballads on this album do leave a lot be desired and are inferior to past albums. this album is going to take a few spins and some time for me before i know where to set it but as it stands, 3.5/5 is a fair place to evaluate my current feelings on it, all things considered

All the other songs are pretty solid, definitely b-sidy though. However what makes this more then worth it is the single "BOCA" which is honestly one of the best songs of 2020. So many dynamic elements going off yet again how unique of a group dreamcatcher can be. The vocal chemistry is just something else, and the transitions on the sections are so seamless but each section is so interesting. So yeah if it was just "BOCA" I would have 5ed this with no hesitation. But as I said, other songs are pretty solid too

the soundtrack side may be one of the most cohesive rwby soundtracks so far, and it overcomes the shortcomings of having 2 rather mediocre cuts this time around that do drag the album as a whole down slightly. Not to mention "trust love" is the weakest RWBY theme song so far. the score side is just fantastic, there is a lot of tension on that side. So i would reccommend spinning the score before going to the soundtrack

As someone who has listened to nearly all of the catalog of Elvis (i am just missing a few compilation albums), this album is absolute heresy. It's worse than giving an album to the drunk guy at the bar who got kicked out on karaoke night, who then decided to get some studio time because he was that impressed with himself. If this is the first impression someone had heard of Elvis they would assume that the 50s and 70s had very low standards for music and that rock was dead before it was born. also how your recording quality gonna be worse than something 50 years old, because the mixing is abysmal, from just a production standpoint this is easily a top 3 for worst albums of 2020. There was not even anything to meme here like with "Skeletons", this is as horrendous to sit through as it is to listen to. this is "Elvis greatest Sh*t: volume 2 Electric boogaloo washed up covers version"

Visitlip have had a reputation for being one of the most hated vk bands out there. and here, this wont do any of the people who detest them favors. and while it is taking part of my least favorite subgenre of visual kei Onshore Kei, i can say it's fine. I will always have a soft spot in for this band for giving us "-OZONE-" at least, that song was fantastic, man it's hard believe "Ozone" is over 10 years old now.

PassCode Strive4.5
PASSCODE has put out easily one of the most enjoyable albums of 2020. It's bouncy, it's fun, and it comes with a rush of excitement when heard like someone having ice cream and candy right after drinking an energy drink. I really cannot say enough how just downright incredible this outing is. PASSCODE is indeed striving and it is obviously paying off.
YUNGBLUD Weird!4.0
I went in not sure what to expect and I was very pleasantly surprised. It is a rather enjoyable
listen and YUNGBLUD does a great job vocally. In some cases, it was like the mid-'00s in the best
possible way. "God save me, but don't drown me out" is one of those songs that just connected with
me on the first listen. Their is also a ton of replay value with this one which is a bonus.

With part 1, I was impressed to see how they actually matured it felt like a band going in the right direction, and then they pull this... There is no way nice to say it this is absolutely horrid. These Rap verses are so predictable, corny, and outright baffling bad that it makes Thousand Foot Krutch look like Kendrick Lamar. Like it gets "Anderson. pack 2016 Freshmen XXL freestyle cipher bad". There is even a track that not so blatantly rips of Macolmore of all people. The musical side is the band chasing the current arena rock trend which like everything else in the trend, does not sound distinct at all, it's just another group playing follow the leader. There are 2 reasons this is not getting a 1. first is this is not worse than their debut album ( I would say they are about the same) and second, their is alot of nu-metal that is still much worse. make no mistake avoid this like the landmines they rap about.

The Final release from the circus-themed VK act, shows why the band is at the very least going on
a hiatus (though it seems more like a break up) they are just not into it, "Mr. Terror Man" lacks
the power of previous singles and feels more like the band getting a farewell song over it, "Point
of no return" Plays more like a song to satisfy the fans who miss the metalcore stuff of the bands
very early catalog and its decent, and again it just felt like they were not that into it. There
is, however "OTO NO NAI MORI" which is an absolutely fantastic balled and easily the one that
resonates the most emotionally. It is the track that elevates this above just an average slightly
underwhelming farewell release where one can clearly hear how burned out everyone was. It kinda a
Shame DADAROMA is calling it quits right as arguably their career was starting to take off outside
of the VK neshe.

Aside from the weird rap song that sounds a bit too inspired by Kid Rock for my liking "CMFT" adds
to the collection of forgettable Solo albums from Metal vocalists and commits many of the same
problems of those albums (being all over the place, coming off as out of touch with what is cool
with the kids, a lot of self gloating lyrics)

Giving this album an extra +.5 for the BABYMETAL and Maximum the Hormone cameos but a -.5 for the
Ms. Otep and Asking Alexandra cameos in the music video for "CMFT Can't be stopped"

Yes, I know this is nothing new for the band, and it can be seen as just basicly the same song
eleven times, but gosh-darned! I have to admit that I really enjoyed this one, AC/DC knows if it

Six Feet Under Nightmares of the Decomposed1.0
this is one of the most glorious things I have ever heard, during this 45-minute session I was
enlightened by the mantra. an idea and a thesis, one that shook open the confines of my mind,
awakening a revelation I had never known before, Dead Girls do indeed not scream. Nothing in
music, let alone metal could ever be as masterful or tastefully written. This is all portrayed
beautifully and majestically by a heartfelt and intense performance by the cookie monster
sponsored by the letter of the day, the letter "E".

Bring Me The Horizon add to their rather impressive catalog with their best album since sempiternal (obligatory comment about loving Amo and That's The Spirit too.) It's like Amo, That's The Spirit, and there is a hell fused together. I know for sure this is going to be pretty high on my albums of the year for 2020. all the singles were fantastic and KINGSLAYER is one of the best collaborations ever, and yes the song was so awesome it needed its own interlude. All the features work fantastically on this album (unlike on Music to listen to...).Bring Me The Horizon gives music to survive 2020 too.

I agree with the sentiment that it is the less memorable sequel of folklore, which is why to me this feels like the b-sides from those recording sessions. Don't get e wrong this is still good, like very good it is just compared to folklore it is clearly inferior. It's the movie sequel that is a good movie but nowhere near as good as the original.

Little Glee Monster Bright New World3.0
The first few tracks (including a guest appearance from Earth wind and fire) are absolutely
fantastic. Unfortunately after that, the album becomes rather forgettable and mediocre. There is a
nice Christmas track as the second to last song but at that point it's a bit too little too late.
The first 5 or so tracks are really what is holding me to give this a (barley) positive rating on
an album with 40-60% filler. Thankfully though the back half is at least inoffensive so it's not
the worst experience when it comes to filler. I am a bit disappointed in ways unmeasurable because
a few songs in I was sure I had an AOTY candidate.
DEXCORE [Metempsychosis.]3.5
Quite The sized album, a double album with both discs being a little over an hour.

Disc 1 is absolutely fantastic, a very rare case for a band to sound this unique and not like
"very clearly influenced by X band" on their first album much less in the genre of metalcore. The
softer tracks here are fantastic too and do not halt the album. One of the best releases all Year
4.5/5

Disc 2 is a mixed bag, its a re-recording of older songs, which are decent to solid, there are a
few good ones like "I'm President" "black pig" (though I prefer the original version still), and
the last two songs. though the new "Brainwashing" is just...yikes. The new chorus is way too
compressed and the changes on the new version were not for the better. a few other cuts have this
problem of being underwhelming. the second disc is also where the fatigue of this Mammoth double
album really hits like a truck and can feel a bit like a trudge to get through 2.5/5

So if you want one of the best metalcore albums of 2020, stick with disc 1

There is no denying the heavy tracks slap hard, and the 2 ballads work in being sentimental. but the standard j-rock Vk tracks dominate the album (at least half the album is this) and it is the glaring weakness of the album especially with how forced they sound (very obvious GazettE influence that is a bit of a mixed bag). "Aster" is an example of this by being a very stereotypical J-rock song that bores one to tears. With all of that out of the way, the moments where this album is able to pull punches it succeeds in landing them on the listener. This may grow on me, but as of right now i see a decent-slightly above-average j-rock release that is at least worth your time if you like Lynch's heavier stuff or looking for something to fill that GazettE ich in 2020

It is not much of a change from their style, but it is fun proof of "if ain't broke... don't fix it". There is an increase of rapping which works very well in favor of 12:00 and is one of the highlights here.

"EXISTENCE" is absolutely fantastic and is a great mash of their older style and the current
direction the band is in, it is sure to make old and new fans happy. Then you have the rest of
this EP, which if I am going to be 100% I was disappointed by. The rest of the songs here just
sound like B-sides or cuts on an album that are to the middle back end, making the whole thing
just seem like a one really big maxi single. do not get me wrong, the other songs are not bad or
anything like that, just they seem to be so played safe, even the 'oh look we are doing something
out of style' track is like this. There is even a song here that sounds more like a song from
CYNTIA's "WOMAN" era. I just really wish they committed to the old and new blend on that first
track, because man, this could have really been something special. Now I am not going to give this
album a negative rating, but I am not giving it a positive rating.

formed during the COVID-19 pandemic, GUNIX shows immense promise on their debut wearing influences of the likes of Fear, and loathing in Las Vegas and blood stain child on their sleeve, with a nu-metal twist. There is a lot that needs to be developed and ironed out, but on this debut, GUNIX has its direction down. Looking forward to how this group's career trajects!

"hyena" itself is a pretty great Nu-metal anthem, But "Chizuru" is the main highlight and is one
of the very rare cases of a b-side absolutely outshining a strong single. "Defective tragedy" has
a Linken park influence that works well though the song itself does feel more like the band had 2
different song ideas and mashed them together, as it did not all blend together smoothly (though
for the most part, it did).

I mean filth in the beauty by itself is a 5/5 song, it is a j-rock/nu-metal classic for a very good reason. The B-sides are also strong tracks too though "Crucify sorrow" is just slightly the weakest link here. Still to have two B-sides that would make for strong singles is an impresive feat.

"Regret" is one of the band's weakest singles in their post-debut album era. The B-sides do have some moments (like the guitar solo of "Psycodellic heroin" or the rapping and the acoustic guitar intro) they ultimately cannot shake how mediocre his release was. Sure I do not "Regret" hearing this, but their is nothing here worth going back too, especially with how much better tracks there are during the band's Nu-Metal era.

Psycho Synner Torch The Faith1.0
Forgive me father for I have sinned by hearing this.

This is what a high school incel would write and think qualifies as sexy lyrics. Everything's
so uncomfortable that it would make bands like Steel Panther turn into devout monks to atone for
their sin of being in the same style (cock rock) as Psychosexual.

It's hard to have instrumentation fail so miserably at sounding uninspiredly bland. Pitch
correction effect to sound 'demonic' is terrible and is one of many mixing issues (one case
where someone IS hiding behind audio effects because they can't sing for squat).

Chorus's on this album are so lazy of any effort, to the point where every alt. rock band
currently putting out moderate hits could sue for copyright. Speaking of, repeating the title
of a song over and over again does not make your chorus automatically good.

This is proof why fanfiction was a mistake because now we got horny Wannabee Ghost with their
sexually assaulting woman fetish (and apparently giving internal and external 1st-degree burns
too). On that topic, Devil Daddy just screams "Self insert OC". This is the "MY IMMORTAL" of metal
in every possible way.

This will not go away, oh no, I am calling it now it is going to have a cult following based on
its putrid awfulness. It will be something to be heard out of the morbid curiosity of "it can't be
that bad? can it" and then they will laugh, they will cry and they will stare in utter disbelief
losing their faith in humanity knowing they live in the same universe where "torch the faith" was
able to exist.

I dunno why the way the songs were arranged reminded me of the 70s output of Elvis (in a good way of course) and Mariya's vocal delivery is a little on the tender side. Short version: it holds up as an essential listen in the J-pop cannon

Is this album overrated? slightly, the first half can be slightly unmemorable, however the album really picks up with "Tsumi to Batsu" and oh man is the rest of the album from that point really damn good, like really really back good. The Polished production from X-japans Yokashi really helps this album in a big way and helps makes songs like "mazohyst of decadence" even more unsettling. It is hard to say you will hear something like it at the time it came out and i can see why many VK bands tried to use the sound from this album at one point or another in their career.

i honestly do not know how but i ended up liking this overall, do not get me wrong, this album has problems alot of problems, and is really generic. But their is something about this that i feel overall more positive with in the end result
BLACKPINK The Album3.5
BLACKPINKS debut LP is one that (for the most part) plays to the strengths of the
remembers in the group. their is no denying that is a fun LP, the highlight of the album
by far is Lisa and Jennie, who carry the album with a self-confident swagger and is one
of the main appeals of BLACKPINK (and also both are really good rappers, which is
something BLACKPINK at least seems to do better then a lot of their K-pop Peers). Even
Jusoo steps up and the members have really fantastic charisma throughout the whole album.
The only main knock i have against this is "Bet you wanna" which is a painfully stale
track that proves Cardi B ruins everything she touches.while their are two other cuts
which sound very much dated ("lovesick girls" is right out of 2012) it does not knock the
fact that this is overall a really great listening experience. Though BLACKPINK if you
were trying to westernize yourselves, wouldn't it make sense to put past hits like "Kill
this love" and "DUU-DU-DU-DU" on the album too, i mean at least you would have a proper
album, and not a glorified mini-album?

dispute having a few moments of the bands weakest songwriting and some obvious filler ("Scission") Skeletons presents nothingface in a introspective but melancholic light but with unhinged and uncompromising anger (come on guys, there is a song called "Murder is Masturbation" and another called "I Wish I Was A Communist" that should tell you what your in for) in a blend of the melody's of "everyday guide..." and "Violence" to create a timeless nu-metal album that stands as one of the best metal releases of the 00s. (If only we got the follow up album, the demos for what would of come out later slap so hard.)

"Fate" is another strong output from Mary's Blood that takes a lot of inspiration from Metalcore and uses it quite well. though its not as good as "Bloody palace" as their are 2 songs on here (especially the final track) which do feel kinda redundant, so now i completely understand why Mary's Blood wanted to change their sound after this. Do not get me wrong this is more then a good album, its an amazing album, but their is no denying that if they kept on this course, the next album or even the one after that could of been really rough.So yeah, As i will say again, this is still a very good album, and is (currently) the last cohesive album in mary's blood's catalog.

The performance here is outright fantastic. Underoath really do know how to put on a live show and
this performance is the best representation of the "Define the great line" era of the band. the
passion from these guys is on full display here. the setlist is perfect to, while some will be
upset about songs like "reinventing your exit" or anything from the Dallas era being present,
those do not fit with the representation of this era, much less underoath from this point forward.
Their are so many highlights here and their really is not a dip of fatigue from the band
throughout the whole set. a majority of this album sounds just as good live (one would argue in
the case of the "TOCS" they sound better) just an outright phenomenal performance
Underoath Define the Great Line4.0
"Define the great line" was not just a defining album for the band, but of the metalcore landscape. the electronic elements hold up really well...and unlike alot of other acts between 2007 to now, they have aged like fine wine. Spencer sounds more comfort zone here and his tag team with Aarron helps to make an album that is as reflective as i is catchy (while it is NOT as catchy as "TAOCS" some of you saying that this is not catchy at all really are getting ahead of yourselves). the only weak points here is the interlude track goes on for a bit too long, and the first of the longer tracks could of been shortened slightly. This is the moment when Underoath cemented their place as one of the GOAT's of not only metalcore, but modern metal

while it is clear spencer joined the band last minute to replace taylor as he spends most the album with high screams, this album is the sequel to "the changing of times" but superior in every way, every single song, even the weak cuts like "Down, Set, Go" are memorable. While my nostolgia of this really wants to give it a 5 their are a few points here there are some dips on this album here and there, this album still holds up really really well.rRecommended Tracks: "Young and Aspiring", "A Boy Brushed Red, Living In Black And White", "Reinventing Your Exit", "It's Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door" and "I'm Content With Losing"

Taylor vocals work pretty well in this style and Chris Dudley gave the group a massive bump with the atmosphere presented. the album is surprisingly dark for a Christian album at the time, apparently dealing with Taylor guilt of causing the death of his then girlfriend in a car crash. regardless this album is a massive step up from their debut (and a really exceptional black metal album)

in the anime english vocal cover community. However the collaborations like this project overall
is kinda underwhelming, with the features have very little presence here (one feature is just here
to shout "hey" in the background, that is it), also Amanda using autotune for a lot of songs here
sounds really out of place and awkward. Their are some of the weakest songs in her whole catalog
here. however that is not to say this project is a misfire or bad, as there are more hits than
misses. the last 3 songs (which balleds is something Amanda excels at), and the opener are all
really good. there's something here which feels off to me, do not know what it is but there is
something else that did not sit quite right with me. Regardless their is still enough to enjoy
where i can kind of recommend this. this is a very light 3 (close to a 2.5). Recommended tracks:
"Black Clover", "Weight of the world", "Don't think twice", and "orange"

well the good on the final coal chamber album is they all cringe traces of their early output is gone, however the album as it stands is really unforgettable and the songs do kinda blend together. The bass here is lacking too, which is a disappointment since bass is usually one of the things this band has going for themselves. Coal Chamber moved from wanting to impress their big brother Korn to living with their uncle Pantara (one could argue the album sounds like Nothingface b-sides). On a positive note, Dez does bring a good amount of aggression and his songwriting has improved a lot, and the album is the band's aggressive to date, what is with those pointless interludes though

Coal chamber may have made the blueprint in laziness in the genre, but Crazy Town Perfected it. I blame this album for giving bands like Trapt and Saliva a big hit on the radio. You know we live on a bad timeline when THIS is the band that got any sort of popularity while Nothingface got no recognition. and yes, this album is so bad that rather then going "listen to this, its so bad lol" i am gonna say, go listen to Nothingface instead, they deserve your attention way more then these 2 garbage ass hacks. This album is the reason people hate nu-metal, even with durst at his worst sounds better then these two. (yes i just said 'results may vary' is better then this album)

Right from the intro, We all knew this is going to be pretentious as hell. When you try to use 'homosapians' in your generic 'Save The Earth" speech to sound smart, that is already a massive flag. I heard some mixed feelings on this album, and honestly...even with some of the most negative thoughts of on this I did not think it would be THIS BAD (seriously, this will probably make my Worst albums of 2020 list). this is has got to be the most pretentious and 'fake-deep' pop album of 2020. "BuT tHe AlBuM iS sO dIVeRsE, LoOk At AlL tHe GeNrE cHaNges" well that is not so hard to do when your 'album' or this case 'product' is so vapid of passion that those changes do not catch any sort of interesting musical shift. Those shifts are few and far through the album, and it all sounds like royalty free music, regardless of the genre the song is being played in. Not to mention their is just 80 minutes of hearing this stock music.

Yes this is a massive improvement, especially the vocals which no longer sound like he is holding his crotch to sing the high notes. some of these ratings of 3.5 and higher though i feel is because the first album was so bad, it exceeded their expectations. Not only has the singing improved but so has the musicianship But as a whole this album is the textbook definition of average post-hardcore. the two songs i recommend here are"the inconvenience" (which as a heads up is an anti-abortion song, so that may not sit well witch quite a few people) and the soft but heartfelt closer "Never Mind Me"

freshmen days when I was a sheltered Christian kid I ironically bopped to this and thought it
was the hardest sh*t because of CHUG CHUG CHUG. Looking back, this album is a near-complete
trainwreck, the instrumental is worse than subpar and the vocals sound like someone was
holding the singer by the balls the whole time. What the hell was I thinking when I thought
"Apology Rejected" was so badass? Anyways I still can listen to "She would like to wear the
pants, but she can't fit into mine" as the song has a rather nice charm to it and I am a fan
of the lyrics of it, "live to the point of tears" is also another song that I think is one of
the better ones on the lyric department (but damn the lead and backing vocals are terrible).
but other then that, this album is a massive and I mean MASSIVE avoid. I wonder if this is
what BMTH and old TDWP sounds like to the elitists of the site (and in general) who are all

This has nothing to do with being anti-disco (what the harsh comments of this album usually boil down to) but with this level of reluctance in an obvious cash grab, it would fail badly in any genre you try to do this in. To achieve this, we get predominately outtakes and Songs from his soundtracks (which are at best, mediocre or decent) which already has a reputation of being rather lowly, even hated by Elvis himself (for every "i can't stop falling in love with you" there will be an "Ito eats", "He's your uncle not your dad", and "Confidence") Their is also the fact that we get some from "Having fun on stage", aka the most cash grab album to end all cashgabs here. This basically what Doug Walker's "The Wall" would be if it came out in the 80s. I guess giving this 1 might be a bit of a complement to the bootleggers intent but it deserves it.

Now competently Alternative, Icon For Hire's third studio album is a crowdfonded one which sees them hammering down in the direction they went in on the "now you know" ep, though their are some elements of rock sprinkled here and there With Ariel now using quite a bit of rapping for her verses (which helps to add quite a bit of personality to the album as a whole) . The Entire album centers around Mental health and depression and how sometimes we do not wanna get better because we like the way the pain feels. we like being in negativity. For the most part, this is done really well. Their are a few duds, like obnoxious "the magic" or the filler tracks "here we are" and "invincible", however the tracks on the album that are good are outright exceptional such as "Supposed to be", "under the Knife", "War" and "You Can't Kill Us".

This first release from Icon For Hire post Tooth and Nail sees them going all in the alternative
direction and shedding the rock side of their sound almost completely. The first song "Now You
Know" which is a very blunt attack on the sexism in the music scene. It is pretty good too, aside
from the rather annoying loop that makes up most of the instrumental, which is a bit of a big neg.

"Bam bam pop" shows that Icon was prepared for the backlash they would get for the direction
change, and they fired back preemptively. The Rap flow sounds pretty great and I do like the way
She fluctuates her voice here. The beat here while nothing extraordinary does fit well with
Ariel's Delivery.

their is no denying the first 5 tracks really do rip (seriously "Perfect Nightmere" is so heavy it
will not be literally impossible to lift what ever listing to the track) however the rest of the
album is just.. a lesser and pale imitation of the bands last full length, "XENO". Their is also
the fact that the album is too electronic heavy, Even as someone who enjoys their electrocore it
did not mesh well here and really felt like it overtook everything. It is the opposite problem of
"Apocalize" (which had too little of it) The bass is not really present here and the new mix of
"Wipeout" is not very good. One positive is to hear Kenta's Gutturals here, they are pretty sick,
and the "Faint" cover is actually pretty great. Sadly, overall this is rather lackluster effort
and on paper a crossfaith concept album should really work well, they do have the sound for it, it
just was not executed well here

chorus here is poorly written chocked full of nonsensical edge. This album was an endurance test
to get through, with every minute passing hating this album even more. This album is spit in the
face of everyone who is battling depression and a piss on the grave on everyone who has ever taken

Their is a ton of reverb on the vocals for what ever reason, and the mixing quality is not the best, but it is the highest res we will ever get of the band live. the set lest is pretty good, as it incorporates every release (minus "Camila Japonica" and "Origin of Dazzle"), and includes "Circle" which would not be on an album till a year later and "STEP", a song i cannot track down anywhere for a studio version. Maiko sounds absolutely fantastic thought. I have no idea why they end the live CD right before the encore starts, it is very baffling and anti-climatic. Dispute the very glaring flaws of this, it is hard not to really enjoy and the passion from the whole band comes through. I am still glad i spend around $40 on this a few years back (when if you wanted to by a Japanese CD in those times, you had to shell out 40-90 USD)

Also Oli just talking all of the lyrics (Mainly on what is supposed to be the screaming parts) is just really underwhelming. With that being said, everything else is great and the orchestral arrangements are fantastic.

This is some strong metalcore, and the trance elements work very well here. their are some rather interesting moments thought, and this song does a good job of wearing its influences like Fear, and loathing in Las vegas on it's sleeve. Fake Island give a strong debut that showcases a strong chemistry between the bands two front woman.

"Light Up" sees them trying and failing to copy Taylor Swift. Let's be real, this is not a rock album, its a pop album with 3 rock songs that happen to be in it. That would not be a bad thing, if it was not for the fact the only interesting song on that front is "Oxygen". Did you ever wonder what TFK would sound like if they watered down "Flame In All Of Us?" (an already mediocre album) then this is the album for you.

The balled on this album are fantastic too. This is the most complete and best effort the band has put out, and where they peaked. Aside from a few corny or cringe-worthy lines here ("P.S DoNt PlAy Me LiKe A 3Ds") this album is one that is a fantastic listen, and still holds up quite well from when it came out nearly a decade ago.

I remember at the start of 2020 I was riding the same high as everyone else, I even said that this for sure would be on my best of 2020 but I think it might at best barely miss the cut. Here is what I have found retrospectively, is that while yes a lot of the album does resonate personally (like with everyone else, this is the Emo album for everyone in Gen-Z who are in their 20s and dealing with the various struggles in that) there are just some moments on here that do come off as a bit too whiny. Perhaps it might just be that I am in a completely different mindset than when I heard it at the beginning of the year. "Brave Faces Everyone" is an album that relies so heavily on Being an emotional gut punch that when the jab does not land it will stagger slightly. I also found the first half to be way stronger than the second half, though the second half was still pretty good too. This is still a pretty high recommendation from me, it is just something I was a tad too high on the hype train for in retrospct.

WHO ASKED FOR THIS ALBUM? ITM said it would be their heaviest album in a while but it is their Second softest one only behind "The Dream". Maria's performance for most of the album is contained. The instrumentation is subpar at best, the features are not very good (minus we will rock you cover, which has so much wasted potential.) Take the opening song "fly like an eagle" copy and paste for 11 songs and you get this album. Why does this album have an interlude right AFTER the intro song! I do not have a problem with interludes on an album, what I do have a problem with is having an intro, having an opening track, AND THEN DOING ANOTHER INTERLUDE. Lets not even get into the lyrics on this album which for the most part makes no sense, you have a better chance understanding a pothead on LSD. if you want Heavy ITM goes listen to "beautiful Tragedy" or "Starcrossed wasteland". If you want more "Ritual" then just listen to fucking "Ritual" or "black widow". IF you want more industrial electronics, listen to "Blood". This album is In This Death Punch. Complete bad covers. If this album is their "got your Six" then I am terrified when we get their "and justice for none.." next.

RE:no goes out on a strong swan song. This album does not include any out of genre moments and instead focuses on what the band has done best in their sound since the "Raident A" era. Marina absolutely steals the show on this album with all the complex work she does behind the kit. the balled "All of you" in a lot of ways is "I don't like me pt. 2" and "Fragile pt.2" but it is a strong balled and has great use of strings. "Monster" is a great high energy track. the only downside to this album is the guitar is mixed a little too quiet on "Monochrome" but every song on this release is fantastic.

members. we also get the band trying some new styles with the Progressive rock travelers, as well

strong thrash metal offering. the only reason I am not giving this a 5/5 is the kinda unnecessary
15-second intro. Aldious somehow deliver 2 really amazing albums in the same year that are the
best of their carrer so far.

This album is such an underrated gem, and my 2017 album of the year(in general might be one of my all time favorite albums, if that was not obvious). this is a great show of Aldious expanding their now crafted sound on a much grander scale, and it never stumbles from the pressure. Every song is memorable and has great replay value, and really goes above and beyond "Raident A", to the point where it makes that album (in which "Raident A" pretty strong album) feel rather insignificant in comparison.

The only drawback of the album is the snare is a little too punchy in the mix. other then that, this is a excellent album.

This album does inject some speed metal influences and has some nifty bass work in a lot of moments on this record. It is the same concept of the band, "Ultimate Melodious" but in a different way. RE:no's deep and melodic vocal style allows the band to have more agressive intrumental.

Aldious hits a bit of a sophomore slump with their second album. there is some filler, and the drums a, for the most part, are so basic that it hurts (and does the album no favors when some of the songs kinda mesh together) however the great songs on this album are really great and do stand out. the guitar riffs on this album are killer, and Remi's vocals are the best part of this album. also "Spirit back" may be iconic (and for good reason) but the best track on here is the album closer, the fantastic balled "yasoukyoku".

Even though the first few songs do feel more like slightly more polished tracks that did not make it onto "Dear slave" slapped onto it (especially with the drum mix for the first few songs) this album gets better as it goes on. On the revamped songs from the "Dear Slave" EP like "ultimate melodious" see a lot of the idea, they had on that Demo that did not reach their full potential due to production limitations paying off greatly and not only feel more polished but those concepts are played into their full potential. The Melodic guitars are really fantastic to hear. This album sounds like something straight out of the 80s metal scene. Remis vocal performance is strong too from her ability to be soft, low and soothing to belting out in a more traditional metal style. "DEEP EXCEED" marks a strong start for the Ultimate melody (pun intended) that is ALDIOUS.

The little industrial elements, which was most notably previously something present on the Self-titled Debut Demon Hunter album, do work here. the melodies on these tracks are strong. The lyrics here are to the forefront and they are fantastic throughout.The second half is stronger than the first half. Due to the outside-the-box nature of this CD compared to other Demon Hunter albums, this album allows for a bit of experimentation though it is subtle enough to not throw people off. its still Demon Hunter.T he best parts of the more melodic Demon Hunter songs, for the most part, is here. This album is also a whole lot better if you spin it right after the war, further submitting my thoughts of this being a double LP. This is a great reflection of the band leading up to this point. there is an underlying theme of contentment throughout this album I can get behind. not to mention the album has banger after banger after banger. this is my AOTY for 2018 for good reason.

The filler here "I think I'm sick" and "Counting on hearts" is solid too. While It is no longer a 5 for me, It is still an underrated album that I was glad to revist.

their first outing in Metalcore is extraordinary, and we get some left field turns like the orgasmic (yes their is a climax in the song) jazz number "Miss Cinderella" and the closing track is brilliant, it starts out hard like a metalcore track but then mellows out into this really beautiful melody for the rest of the song.

The performance from everyone on this album is just outstanding, it is hard to say a Nu-Metal album has ever wrecked me emotionally quite as this

This is the band's softest album as they go for a more mainstream rock sound right from "HERE" (fantastic opener btw) , and it works fantastically. the Bass on this album is so thicc too. "crystal" and "Hana" that close the album are both beautiful, and like the rest of the album contain emotional weight even on the heaviest song on he album, "Orb"

I may have to do a proper review of this album sometime in the future. but this album is not only perfect (IMHO) but if i can be frank, it is one of the top 3 best albums I have ever heard, if not then THE best. Yes, it is that good. this album feels mellow and melancholic but at the same time has an snaring aggression that will bite at any moment. the bass on this album sounds so crisp and thicc here too.

This album still kicks ass and is the perfect swan song for the band, DAZZLE VISION wanted to put out an album with no slow moments and it works (slowest song is an up tempo j-pop number near the end) I know that this might be my most controversial 5, but i do not see myself going lower to even a 4.5 on this. They really took a big number of risks for their final album and it payed off (as with recording this, the band knew this would be their final album, hence the title) also electronics and dupstep hold up rather well. I think this is a great contrast/companion piece to Kirari

Underoath gives one hell of an ambitious album that is as heavy as it is ambient. this album is home to some of the most catchy songs in Underoath's catalog. in an album that deals with the drug addiction spencer battled (remember when Christian sites said it was a concept album about the end of the world?) in an album that gets bleaker the more that time passes on it. might be one of the best albums that are solely about drug addictionrRecommended tracks: "Breathing in a New Mentality", "Anyone Can Dig a Hole but It Takes a Real Man to Call It Home", "The Only Survivor Was Miraculously Unharmed", "The Created Void", "Coming Down is Calming Down", "Desperate Times, Desperate Measures", "Too Bright to See, Too Loud to Hear"
