Love the beginning and ending segments, the middle was decent but pretty ballad-laden. I wasn't fond of the trap-style sections as they seem to be just randomly tossed in there. Also, wasn't huge on the album's track listing being front-loaded with singles, but I get it for the vibe of the album. Wish they didn't release so many songs ahead of time because I went into it having heard half of the album already. All that aside, this is a really good release. |
Kingmaker The Cradle | 3.0 |
I remember being so excited to hear Kyle Galloway was joining Kingmaker, as I was and still am a massive Lakota De Kai fan, but the mix on this otherwise great album is god awful. Kingmaker, if you're out there, please release the stems for this album and let somebody remix it. With a proper mix, this is a rock-solid 4 all day. |
Metallica 72 Seasons | 2.5 |
Shrezzers SEX and SAX | 3.0 |
No doubt that these guys are talented musicians, but almost none of these songs are memorable. Yes, it ?sounds? great, but crystal clear production and buttery smooth vocals can?t carry an entire album. That terribly cringe meme song using the PH beat was an instant skip. Just because a pop-djent band uses a saxophone doesn?t make them the best band in the world. |
For the Fallen Dreams For the Fallen Dreams | 2.0 |
The definitive album of The New Wave of American Butt Rock. Forget Creed, Nickelback, Trapt, or
any of those other bands that your dad used to blare out of his 88 IROC with T-tops when he'd pick
you up from your moms for the weekend visit. It's all about Wage War, I Prevail, and FTFD, to name
a few. Putting it plainly, this album sucks. The songwriting is lifeless, the lyricism is
cringeworthy, and the vocal performance is mediocre, excluding a few decent singing parts on
select songs. This is the kind of album that was written with the sole intention of getting
massive airplay on SiriusXM and vocal covers on TikTok. I have no doubt that every Jeep Wrangler
owner with a 60-month financing plan at 20% interest will be blasting this album with the doors
removed while driving to the gas station to pick up beef jerky, muscle milk, nicotine patches and
Ibuprofen to stomach his bitch wife's complaining about how he never does anything around the
house since he got that new recliner. |

Reflections The Fantasy Effect (Redux) | 4.5 |
An impressive debut from a once unknown progressive metal outfit gets a much-needed
makeover. Buster Odeholm’s production elevates Reflections’ first effort to new heights,
reimagining the juvenile yet nostalgic bedroom-studio sound with modern clarity, crisp
vocals, and well-balanced layering. Subtle and clever musical alterations surprise the
listener throughout, proving that this is more than just an average remaster. Reflections
and Odeholm have given fans what they’ve wanted for the last decade: expert-level production
quality for a fantastic debut marred by studio inexperience. |

Kaonashi Dear Lemon House, You Ruined Me: Senior Year | 4.5 |
All of Kaonashi's hard work since releasing the Native EP has led up to this moment. Dear
Lemon House... is a compelling reflection of their ceaseless improvement, breathing new
life into a music scene that's often over-saturated by artists who are afraid to try new
things. This album is a magnificent blend of post-hardcore, mathcore, progressive, emo,
and alternative, and is complemented by a wide variety of diverse styles that would be
too long to list. Every member of the band shines on this album, whether it be Peter's
heartfelt lyricism and exceptionally unique vocal style, Alex and Roger's enchanting
guitar-work, August's infectiously smooth bass lines, or Pao's jaw-dropping drum
compositions. Kaonashi's debut album with Equal Vision Records is a must-listen. |
Mario Judah Whole Lotta Red (Part 1) | 3.5 |
Mario Judah is one of the most promising up-and-coming artists in the popular music scene. His viral and absolutely diabolical track "Die Very Rough" put him on the map initially. Now, we've been blessed with "Whole Lotta Red (Part 1)", a stylistic and titular homage to the upcoming and long-awaited Playboi Carti album. The lead single "Bih Yah" is a complete departure from the Mario Judah we came to know and love, displaying his stylistic versatility and dynamic songwriting. |
