Bring Me the Horizon Count Your Blessings | 2.5 |
"COUNT YOUR FUCKING BLESSINGS!" Bring Me the Horizons debut release is mostly a mixed bag, featuring great tracks such as "Pray For Plagues" and deathcore classic "For Stevie Wonders Eyes Only (Braille)." There are some pretty mediocre tracks, such as "Off the Heezay," which has has one of the most ridiculous breakdowns I've ever heard. "da da da! YEA YEA YEA" |

Hawthorne Heights If Only You Were Lonely | 3.5 |
Hawthorne Heights have greatly improved on their second album, fixing most of the major flaws from their debut. The vocals never get annoying, although the screams can still get occasionally annoying. The instrumentation, while not sounding too amazing, sounds much more fleshed out, and the usage of 3 guitars actually works out sometimes. However, the lyrics stick a little too close to familiar ground with the depressing themes, and the band still don't have any new or fresh ideas to add to the pop-emo formula.
